Summarize your bug When I got the gold edition I was able to play for an hour and then it started to have connection issues. Then it seemed to general connection issue for most players the following day where it would connect to the main menu but not connect to play, Since then when I try to start the game it won't even load to the main menu it just tries to connect and has a error message pop up and since then it's been doing that since.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When I got the gold edition I was able to play for an hour and then it started to have connection issues. What happens when the bug occurs? It won't connect, gives 2 options retry or close and eventually just closes out.
What should be happening instead? I should be able to connect to the main menu to be able to start matching making and playing.

Apologies for necroing this post from three weeks ago but a happy ending has occurred.

Three days ago I upgraded my fiber optic broadband (very nice to have in the small northern Idaho town where I live) from 50 Mbps (which used to be adequate) to 125 Mbps (their current top tier) and, voila, my connection problems to BF2042 have disappeared.

  • I have tried everything on my end and clearly the problem is not on my end.

I have a 50 mbps DOWN / 10 mbps UP fiber optic cable connection.  I just tested it this moment on the AT&T Internet Test and clocked 48.1 Download, 9.2 Upload, Ping 20.

I play Battlefield V nearly every day with this connection.  I also play Elder Scrolls Online.  I DID play Battlefield 2042 for NINE HOURS on the first day of release (November 19) and all was well.

EA DICE "did something" because on the following day (November 20) at about 4pm I was UNABLE to connect to the EA servers, received several fairly random Error Messages and I doubt that any of those Error Messages accurately reflect the real problem.

AND, I have been UNABLE to connect to the EA servers for BF2042 since that time (November 20).  Yet, as I mentioned, I connect to and play Battlefield V (yep, EA servers) just fine.

The PROBLEM is NOT on my end, it is on EA DICE's end in that their servers are failing to connect players.

    >>>  PlayStation does not allow me to receive a refund for this faulty product because of the 14 days clause.  <<<  As many of us did, I purchased the game early so the 14-day refund period ran out long before I was able to play Battlefield 2042.

And, no matter how many times I post this problem I get no response and no fix for this problem -- a problem that only EA can fix.

Thanks for any attention you can bring to this matter.
