So pre Windows 11 22H2, I was getting 90-110fps everything maxed-out even with RTX on.
Post 22H2 update, my fps has been halved. I barely crack 30-40fps. And the game chugs.
No other game is affected, only BF2042. Not even other Frostbite games.
I’ve rolled back the update to Win11 21H2 and seen my performance recover back.
Anyone tracking this issue? DICE, any upcoming fix?

You might want to try different versions of the NVIDIA driver. Sometimes a newer driver inadvertently makes things worse.

You might want to try a different OS (Windows 11 is NOT an supported OS for BF2042).
I know, it's really hard to believe, but sadly, it is a fact. EA will just comment that you should better go back to Win10 or otherwise 'performance issues are to be expected'.- DarthFDG3 years agoHero+

@DarthFDG
I've gone through 3 different NVIDIA drivers and that is not the difference-maker unfortunately.
From what I've seen there were some issues that NVIDIA GeForce Experience had with Win11 22H2, but supposedly those are remedied with a new update.
@DuaneD
Tracking, and thanks for the link to the CM.
The only issue I have is that the only game with this issue is BF2042. And it's not even the engine, since other Frostbite engines (NFS 2015, BF1 etc.) have worked great. This just leads me to believe that there is some issue with this game in particular. Again, the game worked perfectly fine on Win 11 21H2.
Win 11 is not that much of a shift from Win 10 in that it there will should be performance downgrades. It's only this game unfortunately that has this downgrade.

The fix is to clean install Windows 11 version 22H2, and use the current Nvidia driver. If you simply upgrade Windows 11 21H2 to 22H2 you may run into problems. A clean install is the only way to fix. This is the official fix posted by Microsoft and Nvidia. And yes, BF2042 does work really well on Windows 11 despite not officially being supported.

Hey everyone,
Microsoft has updated their Windows 11 22H2 Known Issues doc where they highlight a known issue stating the following: Lower than expected performance in some games.
So it seems that they're aware of the issues with this Windows 11 build and are actively investigating the issue.
