Battlefield 2042 just disappeared completely AGAIN in middle of great round where I was doing well and at exact time it disappeared I notice this in Windows Event Viewer:

Windows successfully diagnosed a low virtual memory condition. The following programs consumed the most virtual memory: BF2042

This is a horrible bug and makes game unplayable - keeps shutting down in middle of rounds. I have 32GB of RAM FFS!!

  • I did find a problem with my Windows virtual memory settings. This might fix the Battlefield problems with above error.

    They were this:

I set back to System Managed Size and rebooted... now they are this:

Will see if this fixes it...

EDIT: followup to this. After I did this and tried to play some online rounds I found I kept getting kicked out of match within 30 seconds of match starting (some sort of punk-buster??) And the way I fixed that was to follow instructions here to delete a load of Origin files: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

It also appears to be working much better now.... seems that DLSS finally looks like its working... and seem to be getting better FPS - I could even turn off DLSS completely and still playable... no stuttering, or FPS spikes at all now?? Maybe there is something in those files causing problems with BF2042?
