For people trying to follow my instructions, I should add that sometimes x360ce silently stops working for no apparent reason.
That's why I said after you enable HID Guardian and save all you should check that x360ce still detects your inputs.
So if controller 1 tab shows a yellow state instead of green because it no longer detects the joystick, you need to unplug your joystick, plug it back, close x360ce fully and restart it.
You do not need to restart the game.
For people who asked (namely @elfwannabe ), I will not provide instructions on how to find HID Guardian, for your own good. If you didn't find it you didn't read the instructions on x360ce.com and you need to follow them carefully to avoid screwing up your PC and having a bad time.
