So I had this exact same issue and managed to resolve it by simply using a wired connection with my controller. give this a try if you haven't already.
1.Add EA app to steam as non-steam game (not BF 2042 game!!!!!!)
2.turn off ea in-game overlay
3.turn off ea app and run ea app from steam

Hey all.
Thank you so much for all the reports.
Just checking for the players who bought the game via Steam, could you check if disabling Steam controller support via Right-Click on the game in Steam > Properties > Controller > Override For Battlefield 2042 > Select Disable Steam Input does something for you?
Note: this is only for players who bought the game via Steam.- 4 years ago
I am playing via origin, when copying the game go steam you get little too 0 property options. I have tried everything.
Major controller support needs acting on ASAP.
I have tried everything.
