For everyone having issues with their Xbox elite controller series 2 check your Bluetooth and remove HID - compliant game controller and remove it from the computer and restart the game. that worked for me another note is that if you shutdown or restart the PC you going to have to remove it again.

Not connected via bluetooth, but I am using the xbox dongle and a series x controller and removing the HID game controller worked for me.
