[XSX] BF2042 won't install, update, or launch

Xbox Series X here. When I insert the BF2042 for XSX disc, I get a popup saying a 24 GB update is necessary to play the game. When I tap Update, the dialog disappears and nothing else happens. The BF...

@EA_LeeuwConsole is fully up to date. Other games install, run, and update just fine.
UPDATE: I figured it out. The problem is that whenever X/S Enhanced games are installed to an X/S console with an external drive set as the default installation location, the installation silently fails as described. To fix the issue:
If the game tile is present in My Games & Apps, select it and uninstall it completely
Eject the game disc
Enter Settings -> System -> Storage
Set the internal or expansion SSD as the default installation location
Insert the game disc. Installation should start
When installation is complete, launch the game. This should produce an update prompt.
Tap Update
The game update should download and install normally
When the update is complete, the game should be playable normally
