An idea for drag-revives that could in theory lessen rambo-revives

One of my favorite new additions in BF6 is the new buddy-dragging mechanic. It's pretty ok where it's at right now, but I had an idea occur to me while playing. I think it'd be cool, if support could choose when to revive a draggeed teammate with a seperate input instead of it being timed by the round bar and auto-revive. I found it often making more sense or sometimes necessary to drag a teammate further than I was actually capable of in order for the revive to be helpful. I think it'd be less frustrating for the revivee to be born again under fire and get clapped immediatly after.

Of course, making a change like this also needs to be balanced. Some values could be played around with: dragging velocity, how much health it replenishes, perhaps some changes to the defibs that could insentivize dragging instead of rambo-reviving (such as a cooldown between charges or actual effectiveness of the charges perhaps). Or maybe this could be tied to a perk that has debuff of having to choose this perk instead some other desirable perk.

Or if that doesn't feel right, maybe it could just be a seperate setting in the gameplay section without the balancing changes? Like an auto drag-revive on/off toggle; when turned off, you bind a key or mouse button for the seperate input to revive. Or maybe auto drag-revive could be turned off by default and could be changed to auto in the settings menu. Now that I think about it, it could be a neat tactical feature to have in the BR mode too.

  • Well it has already been implemented by either using the defab or dragging your ally to safety.

Agree that you should have to fully charge the defab in order to revive as you can charge it and run to your down ally for a quick revive. There should be a respaw penalty if you off yourself to give time to be revived by support (no incentive to wait but rather to rush in, suicide attempt to kill)

Current system feel good but still needs some tweaking

  • You can cancel the drag any time, so drag as far as desired, drop, defib.
