You aren't forced to take a second primary weapon, you can equip a second gadget instead and get extra mags on your assault rifle.
In the beta, yes you are. The second primary is located in gadget slot 1. And there’s no other option. Gadget slot 2 is the grenade launcher. Unless you take both launchers I guess.
You were not at all forced to take a second primary weapon. You could absolutely take both grenade launchers in the beta. Saying that Assault was forced to take a second primary weapon and cut their assault rifle ammo in half, when they were truly not forced to, is disingenuous.
People generally don’t want to take the same gadget twice. This isn’t complicated. I said in my original post that I suspect it won’t be an issue since you’ll have way more available. If you want to take two different gadgets in the beta, your only other option was another primary.
