Battlefield 6 Open Beta - Honest Feedback

The game looks very promising. Some things still need adjustments here and there, but I think the core is surprisingly solid. For me, as a Battlefield veteran since 1942, it feels more realistic — destruction and visuals are breathtaking, and the sound design is among the best in the series. I think you’ve found the perfect balance between realistic settings and an enjoyable gaming experience. Gunplay and overall gameplay feel smooth, and — most importantly, in my opinion — it’s simply a lot of fun to play. I especially like how you’ve designed team play. In about 80% of cases, I was revived after being downed, which I honestly didn’t expect. That’s exactly how cooperative and squad-based gameplay should work.

I’ve tried the game on both PC and console. PC optimization is impressive, though of course there’s always room for improvement. I experienced some FPS drops during the most intense battles, especially when many players, vehicles, and large-scale destruction were happening at the same time. However, some of those chaotic moments were actually the most memorable experiences during this Open Beta.
On the other hand, I hope the developers are aware of the extreme instability on Xbox Series X. Over the weekend, I frequently experienced crashes every 15–25 minutes in completely random situations (at the start, during, or at the end of a match) in both Balanced and Performance modes. I estimate I had around 50 crashes in total. It was clearly not an overheating issue, since most of the time the game just crashed to the Xbox dashboard without shutting the console down (only in two cases did the console turn off completely).

SERVER BROWSER — please, this game really needs a proper server browser. I want to choose my favorite map, mode, and the server with the best ping, where I can play with my friends, just like in BF3, BF4, and other titles. I don’t want to create my own server through Portal like in BF2042, only to wait forever for it to fill up. I want direct control over what I play — instead of relying on matchmaking, which often doesn’t know what I actually enjoy.

Nevertheless, THANK YOU, dear developers, for giving us the opportunity to try the new Battlefield. In almost every aspect of the game, I can see and feel your hard work — both in the smallest details and in the overall experience. I’m genuinely excited and looking forward to Week 2 of the Open Beta. Also, thank you for your honest, real-time communication with the community, and for truly listening to Battlefield players after years of silence. It’s refreshing, and I hope that both veterans and newcomers will return after the serious issues of recent Battlefield games, giving this new title the chance it truly deserves.

P.S.: There were so many great maps in BF2, BF3, and BF4 — such as Wake Island, Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, Dragon Valley, Dalian Plant, Sharqi Peninsula, and Kubra Dam. Other wonderful maps included Operation Firestorm, Caspian Border, Operation Métro, Noshahr Canals, Damavand Peak, Donya Fortress, Seine Crossing, Grand Bazaar, and Ziba Tower. We would love to see at least some of these legendary maps make a return in BF6.
