BATTLEFIELD IS BACK!!!
I’ve been playing Battlefield since Bad Company 2, and I have to say — it finally feels like Battlefield is back. The atmosphere, the chaos, the teamwork… you’ve really recaptured that magic. I’m loving it, and I think a lot of us longtime fans feel the same way.
That said, I’d love to offer some feedback in the spirit of keeping this momentum going and making the game even stronger:
1. TTK (Time to Kill)
Right now it feels almost perfect. If anything, maybe slow it down just a hair — but please, never make it faster. BC2 had that sweet spot where gunfights felt tense but fair. The bloom is the real issue here I believe, my gun should recoil yes but why do the bullets fly out of the barrel sideways.
2. Medic & Support Separation
Right now, medics and support feel a bit too blended together. Medics should be a separate role from support, with more emphasis on revives and healing, while support focuses on ammo resupply, suppression, and sustained fire. This would make squad compositions more meaningful and increase reliance on teamwork.
3. Health Regeneration
Health regen is way too fast at the moment, which reduces the value of medics. Consider capping or significantly slowing down health regeneration unless a medic heals you. That extra time between fights is what used to make every gunfight feel more impactful.
4. Explosives vs. Infantry
Explosives feel noticeably weak against people right now — grenades, launchers, and other anti-infantry explosives don’t have the punch they used to. While it’s important to keep them balanced, they should still feel like a serious threat if used well, just like in classic Battlefield titles.
5. Map Flow & Boundaries
Maps are feeling a bit too confined, with too much cover and too many bottlenecks. Looser boundaries with more sporadic cover would allow for that open Battlefield chaos we know and love.
Some pinch points, especially in doorways or spots vehicles can’t access, feel frustrating — they give defenders an almost insurmountable advantage.
6. Destruction & Indestructible Objects
BC2 nailed the “everything can crumble” feeling, but here some buildings are paper while others are indestructible fortresses. Cairo in particular really highlights this — certain structures disintegrate in seconds while others won’t even chip and create terrible bottlenecks where Im very upset I cant blow the wall out.
Please reduce the number of indestructible structures, especially at key choke points. If a building has to be indestructible for gameplay balance, maybe make it partially destructible for aesthetics. Even indestructible walls could show cosmetic damage so it still feels immersive.
Right now, many buildings feel like piñatas — I literally fell onto a metal awning and it shattered instantly.
This goes directly against the tactical use of destruction. People often avoid using destructible buildings as defensive positions if there’s an indestructible alternative, and conversely, destructible ones tend to be leveled too quickly. I remember buildings breaking more slowly and in smaller chunks in the best Battlefields, which made for longer, more tactical firefights.
7. Vehicles & Repairs
I and some others have noticed the controls being weird compared to previous titles, for tanks and choppers — we want the old tank controls back and throttle-based chopper controls.
Vehicles feel too fragile without repairs, but almost invincible with multiple teammates repairing.
Slightly increase vehicle health, but slow down the base repair speed to balance it. This way they last longer in a fight without becoming unstoppable fortresses.
8. Getting on roofs
I personally think this should be polished up and made a feature, I had a blast going on and fighting others who got up on the roofs, keep it a jumping puzzle but add a way up on the east side.
9. The lobby and matchmaking seem pretty alright, except I believe it should switch teams between defense and offense when playing those game types, it seems possible to be on one side or the other many times in a row.
All in all, you’ve done an amazing job making this feel like Battlefield again. With just a few tweaks, I think it could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Bad Company 2 in terms of pacing, destruction, and map flow.
Thanks for listening, and thanks for bringing Battlefield back.
