Cancelled pre order (for now)

i had high hopes for this so did pre order... which i have now cancelled

I know its only beta HOWEVER,  i am currently convinced that this is just call of duty with battlefield graphics...

i love a bit of conquest, nice big maps, plenty of play styles and strategies to adopt. This, yeah its the complete opposite. small maps, forced into the centre and just shoot. the word conquest makes you think of something big, large scale maps, individual battles between 2 snipers 1000m apart but this is just Call of Duty Domination with extra objectives...

I was kinda excited to try the new map, because I thought it was going to be much larger. Yeah, this feels way more like COD than it does Battlefield. It was just a mindless TDM with some objectives tagged on.

I was considering buying it towards the end of the last beta, but now I'm over it. These maps are mostly pretty horrible, with one of the worst spawning systems in the BF franchise. I can barely hear footsteps, yet they're all around, and you can't quite pin down if they're above or below, left or right.

One of the biggest issues is that the networking is basically unplayable, or it's so frustrating that I can't continue to play this beta. TTK takes for ever, yet TTD is instant. Everyone somehow knows where you are at any given moment.

I can't find anything nice to say about this game, and I've been a huge fan since BC2. Every iteration needed some polish and tweaking throughout it's history, but this is just completely missing the mark. I'm thinking they really are going after the COD players since that game hasn't been doing so well. Trying to capture that market.

  • Honestly the only reason I pre-order was because sniper can permanently put down players by head shot. But based on what i seen so far, I have to agree. I think as it is now I rather wait for their next release. Had high hopes

  • i remember battlefield being very different back in the day and compared to this bf6 open beta week 2 showing a god awful small map in new york i also cancelled my pre-order. #remindme at bf6 launch day to check if they have a true battlefield experience because as it stands this is call of duty lite

  • In all fairness, we only have 4 out of 9 release maps. Operation Firestorm is definitely going to be a fairly large open map. I think they actually mentioned that they deliberately featured the smaller maps in the beta.

Regardless, wise choice to cancel preorder, since it’s exactly these kinds of things you would want to know before you buy a game. Preorder is just silly if you think about it rationally, there’s literally no logical reason for preordering, it gives you no benefit at all.

  • I’m not wanting to shout about cancelling my pre-order, but I do feel I need to add my 2-cents.

Sadly, I cancelled my pre-order this morning mainly for the reasons outlined in a thread I made recently about TTK vs TTD.

There are a handful of concerns I have about this game since playing the beta, but the TTD issue is a major one for me.

I will potentially buy the game after release but I feel I need to safeguard myself due to concerns I have.

I need to see a number of issues resolved before committing £100 to the game. It’s as simple as that. It’s nothing malicious. I just need to see a fully functioning, balanced battlefield game before handing over my cash.

And this is actually the first time I’ve held back from buying a new BF game (I have all of them).

But something’s just don’t feel right with this one.

TTD, map design, the eerie COD feel, questionable class decisions (Assault now = one man army), UI functionality, lack of HUD customisations (even though after 3 yrs, we finally got fully HUD options in 2042, and now we’re back to square one (I KNEW this would happen)), and other smaller issues.

Here is a link to my thread regarding TTD:

Clearly propaganda being regurgitated by shills in order to shape public perception around a false narrative. It usually works, sadly. Too many lazy people just don’t bother doing their due diligence.
