nobody played the support class in bf3 and 4, and ammo was impossible to find. give ammo pack to assault instead of medic tools and they have a role to fill in the squad alongside the support class which can heal and revive
Bro idk what bf3 and 4 you have played but there always have been a significant support group in matches. When requesting ammo, i've always ended up with more then 1 player dropping it. Even till this day there are plenty of old servers still online with a great amount of support players.
Must say that it died out in bf1 and 5 when started switching stuff tho.
But giving it to an assault class which has been unpopular for a good bit now won't save it or change things for the good. Assaults are basicly suicide players. That's why i want them to stick to the old system, because that actually worked.

any time i join an infantry only server in bf4, it's assault only, with maybe somebody playing recon. bigger maps will have engineers in the mix. if you are serious about winning in those games, you won't pick support ever. if every class was needed in a squad, why would it be smart to give the medkits (and defibs) to the "suicide class" that dies first?

Since bf4 doesn't have an assault class i'll assume you mean the medic role. And in terms of infantry only/TDM, yea you normally don't bring an anti vehicle kit to those.
There is a differance in the medic role and the assault role as we currently see it. Medic isn't really a suicide class as you are primairly healing and saving other players instead of going face first into a hail of lead. You're more connected in teamplay to make sure you can hold a sector or secure a push.
Assault as we've seen in last couple titels is more of a leroy jenkins kinda play style. Fast moving trying to storm a point. Usually resulting in the meatgrinder type of gameplay since they won't really connect in the squad.
You will always find lost engineers no matter what mode you're in. But yea since they're more vehicle connected, you won't typicly find a lot of them in a TDM environment. But that shouldn't be a suprise right. So in a vehicle based environment they will play their part in providing for the squad or team.
Support on the other hand is alway present. LMG's holding a point, providing supressive fire and throwing ammo where needed. Most choke points in recent titels have always benefitted from belt fed MG's. Besides that when a choke point appears, not if but rather when, everyone present in that area will need ammo one way or another. Making a support class a vital asset for every team. So idk if you have a personal beef with support but what you're saying is far from the truth regarding this class.
So long story short. No medic is not a suicide role like the assault is, support players are way more usefull then you think they are and the old bf3&4 system promotes squad/teamplay more then the last few titles have show us.
