First Impressions

First Impressions

1. Visuals & Textures
At this stage, textures still feel somewhat sparse and lacking in depth. This may improve by release, but currently the environments don’t yet convey the richness and immersion expected from a Battlefield title.

2. Weapons & Gunplay
Several weapons—particularly the pistol and assault rifle—lack a sense of weight and impact, feeling more like airsoft guns than military hardware. Recoil is minimal to non-existent, and weapon sounds fail to deliver the powerful, immersive audio experience that defines Battlefield.

3. Map Design
The current selection of maps feels restrictive, with overly narrow, corridor-like layouts that limit tactical possibilities. Battlefield thrives when it offers room to maneuver and strategize—large, open settings with villages, surrounding fields, and forests would provide more varied combat scenarios and allow the scale of the game to shine. Not everything needs to be cluttered with props or artificial barriers; open landscapes can be just as engaging, if not more so, for the pacing and atmosphere of battle.

4. Movement & Handling
Player movement feels slightly too fast, encouraging arcade-like behavior. This is evident in players resorting to Call of Duty-style quickscoping and constant sliding, which undermines the grounded combat style many expect from the series.

Overall
While the return of the class system is a welcome and positive step, the current build feels underwhelming in several core gameplay aspects. Maintaining realistic destruction is essential for a Battlefield experience, but so is tone—avoiding overly flashy or cartoonish cosmetics will help preserve immersion. A raw, authentic direction—more Ready or Not, Hell let loose than Call of Duty—would better capture the essence of what long-time fans value in the franchise.

Maybe I am old as playing since Battlefield 2, but it feels that every new game is more or less the same... unfortunately.

    5. Grenade Mechanics

The way grenades are thrown currently feels unnatural, with an odd throwing animation and impact. Instead of the weighty, decisive toss you’d expect, it feels more like tossing small stones, which reduces the sense of realism and immersion.
