#FixBF6: Battlefield’s Heart Is Missing — Here’s How We Get It Back
I've played Battlefield long enough to know when something's special - and when something's missing. BF6 has incredible moments: the roar of tanks, skyscrapers crumbling, squads charging through smoke. But beneath the explosions and chaos, I feel an emptiness.
It's not the maps, the weapons, or even the balance. It's something deeper. Something that used to make Battlefield more than just another shooter.
Veterans feel it. Newcomers don't even know they're missing it. And DICE, I believe you do know what it is - because you built it once, and it made Battlefield legendary.
We can bring it back. Together. But to do it, we need to talk honestly about what made this franchise unforgettable... and why BF6 won't truly carry the Battlefield name until it returns.
1. Drop Assault, Bring Back Classic Medic & Support
Assault in BF6 feels like it's trying to be another game. In BF4, Medics revived with paddles and kept the fight going, while Support locked down objectives with ammo and gadgets. Clear roles made squads click. Let's keep them distinct and specialized - not blended into one.
2. Unlock All Weapons for All Classes
BF4 let us play our way - any gun, any class - while gadgets defined the role. Class-locked guns in BF6 limit creativity and make the game feel less like Battlefield.
3.Make Recon an Active Intel Role Again
Auto-spotting is passive. We want BF4's MAVs, TUGS, and motion sensors that reward skill and make Recon a true MVP for the squad.
4. Freedom Over SBMM - The Soul of Battlefield
(Most Important)
This is it. This is the line in the sand. Battlefield isn't just about guns and gadgets - it's about a living war community that grows over time. And Battlelog was the heart of that.
It wasn't just a server browser. It was a war room. A meeting place. A home.
It kept squads together night after night. It gave us rivals we'd remember. It let us choose our battles, not be shuffled like cards by some hidden algorithm "for our own good."
SBMM kills that. It breaks up squads. It dissolves rivalries. It treats every round like a matchmaking lobby instead of a living battlefield. Battlefield has never been about stacking fair teams for instant balance - it's been about the stories that emerge when you stick around, fight through tough matches, and come back stronger.
When you removed Battlelog, you didn't just change a menu. You took away what no other FPS has ever given us - true freedom to build our own war stories.
DICE, this isn't just nostalgia talking. The community has been loud about this for years. We don't want SBMM. We want to pick our servers, stay with our squads, and make our own memories. Without that, BF6 will never fully carry the Battlefield soul. Bring back Battlelog, and you'll bring back the heart of this franchise.
5. Keep Squads United, Always
No more being split across servers or teams. Party leaders should be able to keep their squad together - whether in matchmaking or a server browser - without drama. We have lots of friends, isn't it time to finally link multiple squads together so they can stay on the same team? Give squad leads the ability to link with other squads together create larger squads, with or without chat together. The voice option in relation to distance is PERFECT for grouped up squads like this! Only hear from people who are near you and cut out the extra cutter!!!
6. Build a Content Legacy Like BF4
BF4 kept us hooked for years with its campaign, DLCs, weapons, and vehicles. BF6's Portal and campaign are a good start, but we need more: more maps, more modes, more reasons to keep coming back. Use Portal to test BF4-style classes and keep the game fresh.
Let's Make History Together
Battlefield has always been at its best when the community and DICE worked together - just look at BF4's CTE, where fan feedback turned the game around. Let's do it again for BF6.
Community: If you believe in this, speak up. Share your best BF4 memories. Post what you love about BF6 and what you want to see change. Use #FixBF6 and #BackToBF4 to rally.
DICE: You've built something strong here. Now bring back the freedom, the squad persistence, and the heart that made this series legendary.
Together, we can make BF6 not just good - but unforgettable!
