Game lacks oomph of previous Battlefield titles

I've recently went back and played old Battlefield games to just kind of get in the vibe for the new Battlefield. The three games I have played in particular have been Battlefield 3, Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 4, these are the best games in the franchise in my opinion, I have played 1000s of hours of each of these games when they came out but I have not played them in a long time until recently. As soon as I started playing the game I noticed something was off, the game lacks the punch of those Battlefields. I feel like it has something got to do with the sound design, the gun sounds sound very flat to me like they're very like plain. The gunplay feels very safe as well it's almost like it's too smooth and lacks like a punch of fun. I find that getting a kill is very boring there's nothing really there to give you like satisfaction from getting a kill like there's no blood splatter there's no big flash of red on your screen to say you got to kill like in BF1 or anything like that. The game almost feels too fluid and I feel like that could be because of the pace possibly, maybe the pace of the game needs to be slowed down. Even something like a proper grenade throwing animation would be nice instead of just like pegging the grenade like a rock. In the older games that I have mentioned, they felt gritty when you shot the guns they felt like they had power in them, but in this game it feels to me like the guns are almost like airsoft guns and not actually guns that fire bullets. I find the animations to be quite boring as well compared to older games, I don't know if it's because they're too quick or if it's just that they just played things too safe. I feel like the game is also too clean looking, I feel like it lacks that visual dirtiness that old Battlefield games had, these really got you immersed in the experience. From the gunplay to the graphics and to the sound design it just feels too clean and plain.

I understand that this is basically the last straw for the Battlefield franchise, but I feel like the developers have played things far too safe across the board for the game design and because of that it just lacks that Battlefield feeling to me.

I would just like to finish this out and say this is entirely my own opinion and I would like to see if anyone else feels the same, let's start a dialogue.
