Love The Beta. Here's My Thoughts
After almost 10 hours of BF6 beta I'll say its a nice game. I had some good 'Battlefield moments' but I have some criticisms.
- Netcode is a bit wonky. Sometimes shots just phase through enemies point blank. Worse with rockets against infantry. It just disappears entirely sometimes. Why doesn't an RPG to the face kill a guy?
- TTK is kinda weird. You can kill or be killed in a split second one day then empty half a clip and see an enemy run away the next. The former applies to shots in the arm/legs/torso not head on the feedback.
- Physics is kinda crazy at times. I randomly took cover and got bounced into the air like I just hit a jump spring from Sonic. Likely from collision with objects and my model. Sometimes this caused my death. Sometimes while repairing tanks I also clipped into them and clipped out at the front if the driver reversed, after which I obviously died because I was facing the enemy.
- Most of the maps so far feel like infantry maps. Only Liberation Peak somewhat allowed vehicles to shine. Every other map felt smaller than usual though I appreciated the fact that most everything was destructible. However it made the game feel very run and gun and made squad play hard. Future maps, especially those that allow vehicles, should be way larger.
