My dumb thoughts

 

  • You should be able to decouple your first person mouse aim in a tank from the tank's fixed rotation speed, like how third person works currently. The fixed turn cap in the tank in first person feels pretty bad to use with a mouse.
  • The third person camera for the tank/ifv is very low to the ground compared to older battlefield games. This lends to a very claustrophobic tank experience, if this is intended for balance then it's good, but if it's not then it should be raised a bit. If your tank drives over any elevated ground your crosshair can be blocked by your tank's model on your screen which is quite annoying
  • Recon's signature gadget should be the deploy beacon, not the tugs. Recon players that play at range have little to no use for the tugs, but all recons can make use of the deploy beacon. Because the recon has so many choices for spotting tools, it makes more sense to let them choose between these instead of forcing them to use a close range spotting tool

    Funny thing is with the jeeps 2042 let you change it to other machine guns and even grenade launchers as well as it being a minigun off the rip.

    • Stim pen is just underwhelming. Half the time I just use it by accident. Something I'm sure all of the designers of this game realize is that gamers don't, generally, use gadgets proactively, especially not one like this that messes with your sound mixing and stuff. Assault just needs something reactive, or make the spawn beacon the assault's signature gadget since it's easy to use proactively when you respawn and helps your team push up
    •  I don't like this pen in its current iteration because the whole design of a boost you give yourself is antithetical to teamplay, no changes you can make to it will make it mesh with the rest of the game's design as a team based arcade shooter so it should not be the signature of the assault
    • if not the spawn beacon, then weapon sling should be the 'signature gadget' of the class and always available on the x button, and the stim pen should be optional if you are a gamer that likes to plan ahead before your pushes (I don't lol)

    I didn't play this one I'm sure you can tell haha. This was a really good idea then, I love my 2 person jeep chaos

    The Deploy Beacon literally will be moved to Assault, so no it shouldnt be the signature gadget for Recon. Tugs is fine as signature gadget for the role that Recon is supposed to play (reconaissance).

    It's actually a really bad idea to give assault the deploy beacon, after playing for a bit I see no reason to play recon once it loses its ability to create cheeky deploy spots. Sure there will be more gadgets in the full game, but I feel like sneaking around to plant deploy beacons is really good.

    The only situation where I'd do this is if weapons get locked. Then snipers won't have access to the deploy beacon. But I mean... if weapons remain unlocked, then people will just play assault to plant deploy beacons for themselves while sniping

    Maybe instead of weapon lock restrictions, only snipers should be locked to the recon class to make the class attractive. Their unique ability to 1 shot infantry from all ranges makes them beg for special consideration

    Instead of deploy beacon, assault should get an ammo box and it should be their signature gadget

    • Assault is now the leader of frontline with ammo
    • Helps teammates, supports teamplay

    Additional thoughts after a lot of time with the beta

    • Assault rifles should be locked to Assault to make it attractive and keep these powerful weapons off of other classes
    • Deploy beacon should remain with Recon
    • Sniper rifles should be locked to Recon to make it attractive and keep this weapon off of other classes
    • Support's "signature" for LMGs should offer a slightly faster reload time for LMGs
    • Assault's signature gadget should be ammo boxes, not a fan of the stim still

    Reason this is a good setup:
    Assault is heavily defined by its weapons, since it's an infantry killing specialist. Same for Recon, it should have exclusive access to sniper rifles because of its role in combat. Engineers have rocket launchers and supports have the ability to heal and revive which is ludicrously powerful. Being able to reload LMGs faster would remove a serious handicap of their usage and mean support would be a lot more attractive, but not lock classes like assault and engineer for using them for suppression.
