Recon need balancing !

1- "Sniper glint"

The glint glow is too noticeable, the glint should remain but the glow strength should be reduced.

2 - "Bullet trail"

Sniper scopes already have big glint. It already adds a huge disadvantage. Sniper bullet trail should be removed. Either scope glint or bullet trail should be selected and the other removed from the game.

3- "Sweet Spot Mechanic"

"Sweet spot" is a useless mechanic. There's no way to tell if an enemy is within range. That's why you're trying to hit them headshot at every distance. Instead of sweet spot, you need a one-hit kill from the torso at close range, like 0-50m. So, it should be like BF3-BF4.

TTK in the game is incredibly fast. All assault, smg, lmg weapons in the game kill in 4 hits from close range, some full auto weapons kill in 3 hits. And assault carry two weapons second shotgun 1 shot kill. Snipers cannot single-shot body kill and in this situation it is impossible to fight them. Sniper weapons should fire single shot kill from the body from a distance of 0-50m. If this is not fixed, recon will remain a dead class like in bf 2042, no one will prefer it. For a fair fight, it should kill with a single hit to the body at close range like BF3-BF4.

Additionally, sweet spot mechanic that forces players to camping from a distance. If instead it's a single close-range shot to the torso, no one camps, everyone plays in the combat.

There are full-auto weapons in the game that have at least 30 bullets and deal 34 damage(3 btk), this is no joke,  TTK is 100ms. But just opening the sniper scope takes 250ms. You have a chance of 1 bullet, but it cannot kill with one bullet.

4- "fatal sniper headshot"

The fatal sniper headshot mechanic should be removed from the game, it disrupts balance and team play.

5- "TUGS"

If you want to play snipers from a distance by placing a "sweet spot", then tugs are a useless gadget. A motion sensor ball should be added instead.

  • Glint and trails reward snipers who work quickly and efficiently as well as encourages repositioning after shooting. The sheer number of snipers that I catch in games because they dont move at all while posted up spamming shots is mindboggling.  Snipers also just shouldnt be able to 1shot bodies even up close because thats not the point of the weapon. They arent shotguns they are sniper rifles and thusly should focus on ranged headshots like just about every other videogame in the history of ever. If you make it a 1tap then thats all everyone will tend to use cause close up instant death and ofc long range you can just nail folks. Itd have everything you could ever hope to want beyond full auto.

It takes skill to zoom in and shoot an enemy at close range with a sniper rifle, and the game should reward it. Sniper zoom opening time 200-250ms vs. hipfire 4 hit kill full auto riffle with 100ms. Also, hitting that 1 shot is not guaranteed.

How can you compare hip fire with a 30 round full auto weapon and a minimum 200ms delay scoped weapon that only takes 1 hit? Do these two shots require the same skill to make?

If a sniper is in a spot where they have to use a bolty vs an ar at close range, then ngl the sniper should always lose thats the rock paper scissors of it all.

Also you have secondaries for such a reason lmao.

Sorry, but bullet trails are just ridiculous. Besides the fact that it isn’t even realistic by miles, it’s completely unnecessary. What’s next? A big arrow above their head?

Scope glint and showing up on the minimap when firing is enough imho.

I disagree entirely. I understand Battlefield is not a milsim, but its not a full on arcade either. The literal point of a sniper is to be stealthy, and accurate. The actual employment of a sniper within a squad is for recon and fire support. So in terms of this game, say conquest for an example, yes a sniper SHOULD be able to find a observation point and play defense for an objective by marking and taking out enemy players while being unseen. Key point here, being UNSEEN. The glint is a huge penalty to the class that doesn't need balancing in the first place, as any good moving player should understand how to use basic cover and concealment to avoid being shot.... the way Battlefield should be played, strategically and intelligently. Its not call of duty, this isn't the game to run and gun without purpose. As for damage, I understand some balance will be needed, but again, one of the key points of a sniper is "one shot one kill", so yes certain body parts should be a instant kill depending on caliber and shot placement. Given body armor I can overlook this as it that will stop many rounds except for the magnum calibers like 338 and above. Overall the scope glint really does completely defeat the purpose of the sniper class as it IS supposed to be used for observation, defense, and precision targets. Its an oxymoron to have a "sniper class" with a "sniper rifle" made to be used from longer distance and be unseen, and have the option of a ghillie suit for literal camouflage, only to have a massive sniper glint that looks like a flashlight is pointing from it. The glint needs to go entirely. I can compromise on the bullet trail though, if a sniper takes a shot and misses, it gives the other player an opportunity to identify where it came from and incentivizes the sniper to relocate after a few shots without it being a broken game mechanic like the glint that penalizes a sniper for doing what they are actually supposed to do.

  • Scout's duty is infiltration, sabotage, intelligence warfare and marksmanship in stealthy approach. I'd remove all specific artificial revealing things from them and reward stealth over constant steady scope buffing. Audio spotting is more than enough.

Thing is the glint rewards those who can spot targets without zoom as well as those who line up the shot and get the kill quickly and efficiently. Trails reward players who dont miss often as the target will already be dead. That fundamentally rewards stealthy and accurate snipers like you say yourself. Without both you end up just constantly plinked at without any real way of knowing what's after you or from where and the game can ultimately devolve into ONLY snipers because why would you wanna be out in the open if the hills have insertion beacons.

Thing is wouldnt the glint and trails reward players who can play stealthily in spite of those mechanics?
