Recon need balancing !

1- "Sniper glint"

The glint glow is too noticeable, the glint should remain but the glow strength should be reduced.

2 - "Bullet trail"

Sniper scopes already have big glint. It already adds a huge disadvantage. Sniper bullet trail should be removed. Either scope glint or bullet trail should be selected and the other removed from the game.

3- "Sweet Spot Mechanic"

"Sweet spot" is a useless mechanic. There's no way to tell if an enemy is within range. That's why you're trying to hit them headshot at every distance. Instead of sweet spot, you need a one-hit kill from the torso at close range, like 0-50m. So, it should be like BF3-BF4. 

TTK in the game is incredibly fast. All assault, smg, lmg weapons in the game kill in 4 hits from close range, some full auto weapons kill in 3 hits. And assault carry two weapons second shotgun 1 shot kill. Snipers cannot single-shot body kill and in this situation it is impossible to fight them. Sniper weapons should fire single shot kill from the body from a distance of 0-50m. If this is not fixed, recon will remain a dead class like in bf 2042, no one will prefer it. For a fair fight, it should kill with a single hit to the body at close range like BF3-BF4.

Additionally, sweet spot mechanic that forces players to camping from a distance. If instead it's a single close-range shot to the torso, no one camps, everyone plays in the combat.


There are full-auto weapons in the game that have at least 30 bullets and deal 34 damage(3 btk), this is no joke,  TTK is 100ms. But just opening the sniper scope takes 250ms. You have a chance of 1 bullet, but it cannot kill with one bullet.

4- "fatal sniper headshot"

The fatal sniper headshot mechanic should be removed from the game, it disrupts balance and team play.

5- "TUGS"

If you want to play snipers from a distance by placing a "sweet spot", then tugs are a useless gadget. A motion sensor ball should be added instead.

  • They're making the recon class increasingly useless. The spawn beacon has been removed from recon and given to the assault class.

    Nah honestly recons only use it as a free redeploy while solo. Assault means that it can more likely be put on the frontlines and actually useful for squads especially with how in 2042 assault didnt have much in terms of gadgetry and theyre keeping support as both ammo and healing. 

    Now recons have more focus on actual spotting, targeting, ya know actual recon work.

    Which is why you don't go above 3x(clear sight picture) magnification on scopes. There is also an attachment that makes removes glint on the 4x and reduces glint on the others. There are also attachments(suppressor) that removes muzzle flash and you showing up on the map AND reduces the bullet trail intensity. They can't remove it completely, if you did, it would be basically impossible to countersnipe or push a sniper.

  • Here is my take on the recon class and what i would like to see and I agree with some of what was pointed above.

    First the glint that always shows up when you aim should be removed unless you are under direct sunlight. These will make players weight the pros and cons of where or how you approach the battle. If you prefer terrain advantage at the cost of being spotted by everyone go for it , you can stick to the shadows and pick off stragglers (you can change position and keep the enemy guessing and afraid), or stick to your squad and spot enemies (counter sniping, avoid ambushe, flank or flush enemies into kill zones). 

    Second scopes magnifying strength should have an impact on how strong the scope glint is. bring back the exaggerated bullet drop (really enjoyed the challenge), point and shot its fine but its not as satisfying. I have mix feelings about having infinite c4 (i like it but having a limited amount would incentivice more team play as you'll need support to keep you restocked. 

    Third the fatal head shot i love it. It rewards the player for being a sniper otherwise enemy squads would simply rush you and keep reviving each other. This works more as a deterrent for players that just want to run and gun all the time and it would reward those that are more cautious about just rushing alone or not use smoke. Like how chest shot give away the enemies location by slightly flashing red so I would like to keep that if the chest shot isn't a kill but I would like to see 1 shot kills from a sniper specially if you change the ammo type

    Fourth i don't see the TTK as much of an issue since recon shouldn't be looking for head to head fight (specially on close quarters), recon should be trying to flank, back stab, set some traps with c4, get creative and don't forget you have a motion sensor, use it to make sure you are not being fallowed or help you blow up an enemy "you don't even need to poke your head out to know where he is at". you can also chose a different weapon but I'll admit assault is too tanky so run away (don't forget smoke grenades)

    Fitht The auto spotting and marking the ground conflict with each other as auto spotting makes it obsolete. I would prefer auto spotting to only be shared with allies that are near you, so with out a recon unit near you, you'll have to rely on your own ability to spot enemies (good luck with that) or roughly have an estimate of where the enemy is when someone marks the ground.

    Lastly since you can spawn motion sensors indefinitely, the drone ability might need a rework not sure in which direction yet, as i would like to see whats changes are made for the coming play test and what gadget will replace the spawn beacon

    about the fatal sniper headshots specifically : they're an anti fun mechanic, it doesn't feel good to randomly catch a bullet halfway across the map from an enemy sniper that sits in spawn only to be faced by a "sorry bro, regular BS would mean you get to be revived, this? Nah" and the real reward for the average recon? nothing. as they sit so far back that they're effectively playing their own game entirely, not to mention that it sometimes still allows you to be revived despite being headshot by a sniper, it just doesn't feel good to be hit with, question is will the few players that actually would benefit from it, really enjoy it enough to warrant the majority of other players being hit with an anti fun mechanic?  not to mention that recons should still play around a squad, not solo just how every other class.

    The sweet spot rewards missing a headshot. That's it. It should be removed

    Flank argument, have you tried to shoot someone's head across a map. Unless you have AA its not that easy. Not to mention glint makes you by default a target and i have counter sniped snipers with almost every gun in the game, except the shotgun (don't play assault) and pistol (takes too long) more likely to get head shot.

    2nd, the reason y recon class likes to camp its because we are not effective at stealth (glint again). Recon is not effective in tight corners y rather cover the street next to the base we are stealing and counter flanking then sit there with a pistol sinse i already placed the motion sensor (give up easy points but I'm more useful)

    I like a challenge and body shots don't always kill, I would prefer they exaggerate bullet drop so it takes more skill then point and shot ( i agree with you guys on this), they are removing the beacon from recon so the camping problem should lessen but I wish they give it to the medic instead.

    Not sure how I feel about the sweet spot, quite sure everyone has but I think i would prefer they added that as a different type of ammo (critical hit), that way you'll you to weight your option.
