Reticles (Colorblind)

The reticles on most sights are either green or red, which is a huge problem for those who are red/green colorblind, which is the most common colorblindness (Almost 10% of men and 0.5% of women are afflicted). Losing track of the crosshair in a firefight is very detrimental to ones health.

Now I know there are several colorblind "modes" in games, but those water down the colors and contrast. For those of us that doesn't have that severe of a deficiency, it's just too much.

There's also the fact that red dots are, usually, red (duh). But battlefield isn't really a mil-sim, so please, let us change the color of the reticles in scopes/sights.

  • I've also done a post on this. I struggle with the reticle and have been forced into iron sights for most fps games and this game is no different unfortunately.

I actually like using iron sights, but there's a reason that iron sights are backup sights nowadays. Agreed or find a scope/sight with black reticles or the like.

It wouldn't actually be hard to implement either, they have all the tools to make it happen and probably in less than a day.

  • The colorblind settings are hilarious since they seem to focus more on can you see it for the extremely colorblind rather than doing something to compensate. I have a red deficiency, so the reds tend to lean toward the black and I had to switch to the green-blind setting to make any of the defaults make sense to me. I tend to give it a pass though since there's a custom option and I just set the enemy to be more of a burnt orange.

As for the sights... I had serious problems seeing some of the red dots and other holo sights. Either the color needs to be an option in the colorblind settings, or you should at least be able to select red, green, or blue options since those are now commonly available on the real market. I even have a green laser on my pistol at home because the red wouldn't show up well enough unless I maxed out the power setting.

  • Dont most gaming monitors and tv's have colour blind modes as well? Just curious for outside features as well as in-game features.
