Seems the movement in the Beta was meant to attract COD players

    Let me start by saying that there is nothing wrong with a developer trying to attract players from their direct competition, in fact, that's what every business needs to do. but to go to the lengths as to change the core of a franchise is going a tad overboard in my opinion.

     I am sure a lot of people reading this has seen the reddit post by now titled "This movement should not be possible in BF6 DICE, needs to be addressed"  it has almost 30K likes. After seeing the video clip attached in it I was shocked. The player in the video was bunny hopping all over the place like a Mexican jumping bean, jumping out of windows like being shot out of a cannon, high into the air. It was ridiculous to say the least. This type of movement needs to stay in COD.  DICE, you need to address this in some manor, like for example, add a fatigue meter, or something to that effect, so this type of movement can't used or abused. Should only be able to jump up while running once every few seconds. not chain jumping like what was seen in that video. 

  Now about the slide. I like the slide, it can get you out of trouble. But the slide is a little too long. shouldn't be able to slide 10 to 20 feet unless you are going down a hill. to slide that long on a flat surface is, yet again, too ridiculous. The sprint and springing with the knife equipped is fine. its been faster in prior Battlefield games. just the sliding and especially the jumping needs to be toned down.

    Honestly the movement felt kinda fine. Sliding can be potent but you also have other options and tools and the TTK being pretty quick means its just not that great in the grand scheme. The big issue I had with it more than anything was when I'd just seemingly randomly "Mirror's Edge" bump off of various objects and effectively wallkick or double jump or just go wherever. Hopefully that much gets fixed.

    On that note DICE you know what you gotta do with this accidental movement tech give me my funny running game back.

  • To be fair, chain jumping has always been in BF. I personally think that sliding should be removed or perhaps be changed to "slide to cover" where the player can quickly hide behind a nearby cover or something. 

    I do think that they are trying to attract CoD players. The menu sound effects, round intro animation, menu design are eerily similar to that of CoD. I realize they gotta do what they gotta do to make the game a commercial success and for that they need a lot of players. I get that. I just hope they don't let CoD influence gameplay mechanics. I can ignore the rest of the gimmicks 😄

  • You can run and slide and almost slide cancel in BF5. So i dont know why you are pissed at the movement of BF6 ?
