I am not missing the point. Why does everyone try to draw lines between real life and battlefield?
We’re talking about balancing a game here, which doesn’t pretend to be a mil-sim.
If it’s truly “about caliber” then you agree that a well placed 9mm shot between the eyes should one shot players. I for one would be annoyed getting one tapped by side arms in battlefield.
As a loser who has been playing video games his whole life, it is clear to me that weapons in video games like battlefield must have invented discernible differences between weapons, for the sake of gameplay, even if it is not representative of reality.
Omnipresent scope glint, jumping out of jet and getting back in mid air, or resurrecting a man with a defibrillators after he was shot by an AP shell from an M1 Abrams are all completely unrealistic. Yet it is a reoccurring theme in these forums of people cherry picking aspects of the game where they cry “realism” with zero regard for balance. It just makes for unproductive conversation.
I respect people’s passion or knowledge for firearms and all that, but these conversations are better reserved for games like Arma or Tarkov.
