Thoughts for BF6
Thank you for the invitation to try out bf6 beta. As a battlefield veteran who began playing Battlefield 2 and continued playing up to BF4. It should be noted i only play on hardcore mode. Here is some feedback.
Hardcore mode is a must us players who dont think 4-6 shots is acceptable to put someone down
Reduce m4a1 fire rate to 800rpm. I consider Battlefield titles with somewhat realistic weapon charactreristics
Male classes. Sorry but im old fashioned and do not really like to hear a female voice yappin in my ear. I can understand that you want to cater to the women playing, so atleast with the camo/skins you have for classes, make male voices. Even on the comms when they yell out the bases that have been capped or lost, id like to be able to switch to a male voice only. Bf3 had peak immersion when it came to sound/voice over comms/radio.
Underslung grenade launcher/shotgun? Would be fun to implement that for faster switches to grenadelaunchers/shotguns.
Redo class emblems. The class emblems are too difficult to read, when you are in a hurry. More distinction is needed. Go back to bf3/bf4 icons.
Bf4 tier reloading. This is actually a shock to me that it hasnt been put in yet. If ive already dropped a mag/magpouch and i need to switch to a sidearm or another gadget, i shouldn't have to restart the reload animation again.
Suppression like bf3. Yes Battlefield 3 suppression is soarly needed once again for strategical purposes. I believe this was the most underrated/missundrstood feature we had. Suppressive fire is needed to pin down players to keep them from peeking around corners, deny players from entering an alley or crossing a street. Most important is the ability to suppress snipers, hindering them from making 100%accurate shots on players on big open maps and spaces. When the smoke grenades are out, you dont have anything else to counter with. If you do want to try to kill the sniper, it would atleast take 4-6 shots to kill him from a distance, even with the weak headshot multiplier. With the ability to reduce the snipers accuracy, me and the team can run more freely and take turns suppressing them during sprints across the open maps.
Health regen. This is a very bad feature in my opinion. Its detrimental for teamwork. With the ability to self heal, wether it is quick or slow, just kills the need for teamwork. In the bf6 beta health regen was very quick. If it wasnt for the ammo in the bag nd the defibs from the support class. There would be no reason to pick that class. I am a hardcore mode player so would like to see the health regen removed or nerfed. I like a challenge and want to feel the need to find a medic. No health regeneration will force more teamplay. Over all relying more on teammates is crucial. Maybe carrying a small medkit, that has only one charge every respawn, could be ok.
Headshot multipliers. I would like to see atleast a 2x headshot multiplier, after all if the head is hit it should be game over.
M39 Emr/ebr is too weak in the beta, slow/high amount of recoil and too low dmg.
Regen c4? I noticed that recons could regenerate c4, which is just nuts. It needs to be resupplied by a support class.
Redo the hud or atleast go back to Battlefield 3 or 4
Option to remove the kill ping notification sound. I noticed that i was able to disable the sound for hit indication but i would like to disable the coin like ping that pops everytime i kill a player.
Hit indicators are to big. I noticed the options to reduce them, though they seemed like they were not working. Option for removal or toning it down is needed.
The Grenade throw animation is just atrocious. Drop the main weapon and throw the grenade after the pin has been pulled. Go back to Bf2/3/4. Give us the ability to cook them aswell.
Bf3 soldier quotes. I struggled to feel immersed in the beta with the lack of soldiers shouting out warnings/ struggles or other information. Battlefield 3 had amazingly immersive quotes, implement them atleast and maybe add new ones, maybe female voices for those who would want that.
Assault class needs a rework in my opinion. I know you want the assault class to be in the heat, at the front line but i dont necessarily think they need two primary rifles. I think the focus should be more on the gadets like the ladder and the sledgehammer or maybe even the spawnbeacon if or when you decide to make the switch from Recon.
Recon. I think you should be careful of moving the spawnbeacon from this class to the assault. I do like the idea of the recon being able to run with a carbine or pdw while having c4 and a spawnbeacon to play as an offensive recon. I know that your thoughts are to give this to the assault class but do alot of testing first in my opinion. I did like the uav that recons had but i would like to be able to deploy that uav anywhere i like on the map and not just above my head. If the majority of recons are going to play as a long range sniper then puting the uav on top of them is going to be totally useless.
Engineers felt fine to me
The support class. I would like to see this class split up into two classes one combat medic and one support. (Maybe a 5th class should be had). The medics should have access to assault rifles and carbines, dmrs, defib, medic bag, 3 smoke grenades and 1 frag grenade.
The support should go back to having LMGs with a slight increase in bf3 suppression affect, after all that is the roll of a light machinegunner. With the edition of having carbines/pdw or dmrs. Claymore mines, ammo bag, maybe even c4, but also the mortar. The bf3 version of mortar and not the bf4 remote version of a mortar.
5 man squads would be needed for 5 classes, or 6 so it lines up well with 32/64 players
Closed weapons is what battlefield is, this is a obvious choice if you want to cater to/win the hearts of the true battlefield players
Little bird choppers is a must. More vehicles!
Also i didnt really understand what the fuss was about with the flight controlls of the attack helicopter. It wasnt what i was used to, but i learned how to fly them eventually.
Remove medic shield. Yes remove it. It is just not realistic to carry a large folding plate. We are not super soldiers! MORE REALISM please.
Ribbons and badges. Rewards like badges or ribbons have always been a part of battlefield when you do some achievment, wether its capturing bases, reviving, healing, resupplying or blowing up vehicles. The "notifications" we got after doing something was very underwhelming.
Scopeglint should in my opinion only be applied to "high" powered scopes. Like 6x and above.
Reduce size of hit markers, like bf3, now it clutters up the screen where you only want to see your crosshairs and the target. Have the option to tweak it or remove it.
More recoil on weapons like carbine/assault, make semi auto more viable. I would like to see semi auto fire more prevalent in the game if your target is more than 40 meters away. More realism please.
Humvee gunner cover plates/be able to duck into cover inside vehicle. As of right now sitting in the gunner position in the cars you are very exposed, too exposed to gunfire.
Running stamina could be a necessary feature to slow down the pace of the game and make a need for transport vehicles.
Friendly fire on. I think you should always be mindful of where you place grenades and other explosives. We hardcore players always have to keep that in mind.
3d spotting. I think 3d spotting needs to be removed. Whats the point of having camo clothes if a red diamond shows you where you are.
Rush mode was alright but the deffenders spawn points need to be moved further back. There needs to be almost the same amount of run distance for the defenders as the attackers. I think the defenders should have about 60-80% of the amount of distance the attackers have to run to the objectives.
Conquest assault is an old but gold game mode.
Maybe a closed beta for the large, all out warfare maps could be needed before launch.

C4/ rpg splash dmg seemed to be too low
Incendiary/ fire/ thermobaric grenades is a thing i am not a fan of. Weapons of that nature are very hard to balance. I'd like to see a removal of such weaponry.
Over all i think there should be a less emphasis on the K/D ratio and more given to teamplay/teamwork. Maybe a commander mode should make its way back from battlefield 2/4.
Right now there is too much hero gameplay, when you have classes with laser beam weapons and fast health regeneration. That isnt battlefield. Battlefield is something that fills the gap in between a Milsim game and a Cod game. A game that features a "no name soldier" with his team and squad, where the objective is more important than the players themselves. That is how you get the "only in battlefield" moments. By taking your squad through and behind enemy lines to get a sneaky capture of a base and deffending/fighting off the hoard of enemies with tanks and other vehicles, with your life as a small team.
I also have to give praise to you for delivering a very stable and smooth beta. It seems to me that this game has a stable foundation and this is something that has alot of potential. But in EA's pursuit of call of duty's turnover and revenue, dont forget about "Us, the core Battlefield veterans".
Thank you for the beta test.
Over and out.
