I agree with you, but from the other side of the fence.
As a PC player we don't have the option to turn it off.
I would like it to be up to the players, whatever platform they play on to decide if they want crossplay enabled or not.
Looking at videos from gameplay on PC vs Console, the console player have assist, that I agree should be available, BUT
when you play as a PC player, and meet a decent/good console player, I feel that I'm at a disadvantage.
I can see that console player have reduced recoil (with the right attachments it's almost abcent)
Meanwhile console also have aim-assist, autorotation, and slowdown over target.
PC player get slow over target, with the option to tune it down.
When i'm trying to hit a moving target at 50m+ with assault rifles on PC, it's a fight to control recoil and bullet spread, and I can almost tell when I meet a console player in a fight. He has an easier time getting good shots down the range, thanks to reduces recoil, aim-assist, and auto-rotation. Meanwhile i'm trying to hit a sliding, jumping, running aim-assisted, recoil-free enemy.
I'll come clean and admit: sometimes it's a skill issue on my side, but sometimes, I genuinely feel helpless against a console players many game-assist.
There are up's and down's to either platform you're playing on, but for me, i would like to be able to turn off crossplay, and be able to compete against players with the same advantages/disadvantages as myself.
