Vehicle Balance

Full disclosure I don't have much time in the jets. I do have a lot of time in the helicopters and tanks. Hopefully there are more options in vehicle kits on release but as of now they need work. So, here's a list of what I noticed.

  • IFV feels good overall but needs slight HP buff
  • Tank needs a decent HP buff
  • Helicopter rocket damage buff
  • Helicopter health buff
  • Solder RPG and Stinger quantity nerf
  • Stinger range nerf
  • Stinger damage nerf
  • AA gun damage nerf (or complete removal)
  • One HQ instantly repairs helicopters, and one does not

My main concern right now is that vehicles don't have a threatening presence. 1 stinger rocket shouldn't do 90% damage to a helicopter. Flying is already difficult we don't need to punish good pilots with stinger and AA gun spam. If they are going to keep this balance, we need 2 or 3 helicopters per team. Hopefully DICE is aware of these issues and vehicles are strong again.

  • I also think that normal bullets shouldn't do damage to vehicles like in older titles. There is enough spam in the air as is, and being constantly shot at doesn't help. 

  • For infantry vehicles, I'm happy with them. But if anything, a very slight health buff. Let's day 10. They are powerful to use. But the drawback is that your exposed. So 1 rocket and your done is reasonble, no? (Assuming we're talking about the truck with gun on top?...and that vehicle is clearly not armoured).

    I think tanks are perfectly fine in terms of their current health. I play them, and I feel perfectly fine with it. Sometimes I last long, sometimes I don't. They are very powerful machines, tbh. And the reality is, tanks can be taken our quite quickly with modern technology. 

    If you want tanks to live long, you need an engineer. That's the point of them... 

    The thing with tanks is that they feel weird to control as do other vehicles.

    In terms of helis, I think they're just **bleep**ty to use right now. Evasion is hard because of it. So I think thst needs to be worked on first and then see what happens.

    For RPG's, if anything, one less. That's it. 

    And tanks are scary if you're anything but engineer. And tanks are afraid of engineers equally. Is that not fair?

    I'd agree helis not being much of a concern, as well as jets. No fear for them at all. Lol. But they have movement issues, so they can't pefrom well to be threatening.

    The maps probably aren't big enough to have 3 helis. That's sounds like a lot for them maps. If anything, decrease heli spawn timer.

    That's my opinion.

    Also, like you mentioned, their might be new tech releases upon full release that enhances the players tank survivability.  Then again, their might be more tech to tske them out. And if they're suffering more then, the a health buff would be reasonble for a tank. Especially if they include a mortar, and if they have anti-tank FPV drones...

    Personally, I like shooting airplanes. I think they should leave it. I missed it in 2042.

    If they were to do anything about this, as a compromise,  which i don't agree, would be to leave it to LMG's to be able to cause damage only, on all ammo types as standard. It gives their role more  purpose. 

  • I like where vehicles are at but i would like and increase of how many can be used per team. Vehicles shouldn't be pushing by themselves, foot soldiers should be pushing with them, tanks  should make you afraid to stick your head out but it would help if vehicles players got an increase in splash dmg, vehicles should be better at flushing enemies out of difficult spots. 

    As for the stinger they have to decrease how many you get and its range cause the current maps are too small. Someone posted that its range is 700 meters while the biggest map might be 300 wide by 500 long  with both HQ included, its too much of an unfair advantage if you can sit on your HQ and be able to cover the whole map

    Don't have a problem with rpg since vehicles should be pushing along foot soldiers to keep rpg on check. Seen a lot of tanks pushing instead of pulling back that have low HP or can't wait for engineer to finish healing before moving. 

    Haven't used the AA, can't fly the jet at all. But heli should get a break when they fly off the map. Very hard to do with that range and I agree that it heli have too many lock ons on them but that has to do more with map size. If maps where bigger, then there would be a better spread and vehicles would get more free range to move

    It's not fair to the pilots though. Keep in mind some people play battlefield mainly for vehicles.

    Well, there needs to be changes for sure as it is now. It's definitely very punishing for vehicles players (i assumed maps were going to be as big as 2042). I hope they demo a big map to have a better feel for it, otherwise I agree with everything you posted for the title.

    Oh! RPG needs to have bullet drop added. I didn't realize how far it can shot straight. It's probably better then a sniper (no glint)
