We really like BF6 - But these are stopping us from loving it.

I’m feeling really positive and hopeful for the game’s launch—I can’t wait to see the rest of it.

But… there are a few concerns. And I think some of them are what’s giving players that “COD” vibe people keep mentioning, which is taking away from that unique “Battlefield” feeling we’re all craving.

Here’s what really stood out to me—and my local gaming group noticed these too while we were playing matches:

  • Red dot sights – Right now, they feel dull and dark. In chaotic moments—like when explosions are going off—they’re hard to read. Aesthetically, they almost look like placeholders. It’d be great if they had that little glowing light effect, like COD’s sights.
  • Communication wheel – Needs more options. Things like “Request order” and “Go go go” would be really useful.
  • Grenade throwing – It’s way too fast. There’s no natural delay; it just feels instant and spammy. Slowing down the throw and improving the animation could make it feel more authentic.
  • Vehicles – This is the big one. In third person especially, they feel way too light and twitchy. If I’m driving a tank, I expect it to feel heavy and sluggish, like a real bruiser. The turret and camera rotate too quickly, which cheapens the experience and makes it feel like COD’s vehicles—which also didn’t work. Battlefield vehicles have always had weight and presence. Right now… they don’t.
  • Closed vs. open weapon class matches – Having multiple game searches with different parameters splits the player pool too much, which can hurt the game long term. Battlefield’s peak—BF3, BF4, BF1—was during the closed weapon class era. That speaks for itself.
  • Maps – Loving the size of the open beta maps so far… but really hoping we get some of those original Battlefield-style large maps in the full release. If we don’t, I think it could seriously hurt the experience.
  • MainMenu UI - Honestly, it’s basically a copy of Call of Duty’s menu. Why? Nobody likes that design. It’s not a deal-breaker—I can live with it—and there are way more urgent issues to fix first, so don’t waste time on the menu just yet. But it is annoying and frustrating to think that, instead of creating something fresh to match what’s honestly a very exciting and impressive Battlefield game so far, you just looked at COD and went, “Yeah, let’s do that.” I’ve always believed DICE was better than that.

Overall, Battlefield 6 already feels like it’s shaping up to be a big improvement over the last few instalments. But these are issues the community’s talking about—and they seem like relatively easy fixes.

Fingers crossed… maybe this time “BF is back.”

I would also like to add-
Ammo Capacity - I am 100% with you that we should be NOT be carrying 400-600 rnds as an assault class... However, 3 magazines worth is just NOT enough (As you then find yourself running around looking an ammo box after 1 encounter, especially if you are suppressing enemy) Could we look at increasing the starting ammo for assault class a little? Maybe 4-5 mags worth of ammo ?
