10-12 Active players on 32-player modes

In previous Battlefields, it was pretty common to have a good chunk of your team not actively playing, dead, AFK, in the game menus, etc, but for some reason I have noticed this even more in BF6.

In the past, most games had player counts in the 20s, with about 4-6 players dead, with a few AFK or in the game menus and not spawned. However, for the most part, your team never dropped below 20 in game, on the map.

Lately, I have started to pay attention to my teammates on the big map and have noticed that I rarely, if ever see more than 20 friendly player icons on my map at any given time. It is typically in the low teens. Is anyone else experiencing/noticing this?

I could only think of a few realistic scenarios:

1. More players are actively not playing, possible, but normally something like this would be somewhat random in nature, not all the time.
2. Not all your teammates are being displayed on the map. Could be a bug, but would depend on if others are seeing the same thing.
3. The game is artificially putting player names in the server or adding bots (without bot tags) to make it look full. Some players even act like bots, trying to run thru walls, peaking around every corner, hanging out in the middle of the map the entire round. I have seen entire squads do this.
4. A combination of those 3.
