100 Hours Played - Honest Feedback
I'm approaching 100 hours played now and i will start my post with a simple statement:
Battlefield Studios COOKED!
The game feels awesome but no forum post would be complete without some whining so below are my gripes with the game, many of them small but with such a great product, you have to be nit-picky to find the problems!
- Tank turret orientation on spawn - I know i am not alone when i hop in a tank, push W on the keyboard and expect the tank to move in the direction i am facing. Its like this on all other BF games however, in BF6, the turrets of many of the tanks are not facing forwards when you spawn in leaving players first having to orientate themselves before being able to advance. Feels like a small QOL change but certainly grinds my gears!
- Loadouts - Perhaps this is a bug but the loadout editor feels pointless when my setup is not saved upon entering a lobby.
- Hardcore UI - I mostly play on HC servers, preferring the limited HUD however it seems that even the vehicle crosshairs are removed when in this mode. I believe this is an oversight as it does not go against the spirit of HC to have these visible in first person mode.
- Attack Heli Spawn - I love the vehicles but its rather frustrating to have to type in chat, hope someone wants to be a gunner and will spawn at HQ to join you on a run. Why not allow the Attack heli to be spawned on if it's within a radius of spawn?
- Map sizes - No doubt you guys at BF Studios have more maps in the works, i think the feedback from 2042 has probably scared them away from making large maps though. Operation firestorm and Mikraks Valley are by far the largest maps at the moment but with only two of them, it can feel as though the vehicular warfare i have come to know BF for is limited in it's scope.
- Campaign - I actually enjoyed the campaign and whilst i appreciate the ability to remove sections of the game to save on HDD space, it certainly degraded the experience to finish the campaign and immediately be prompted to uninstall it. Are you not proud of your campaign?
- Netcode - I have 0 complaints here. I just wanted to throw in that i use the server browser and filter by ping when selecting a server to play on. I have not had the same netcode / bullet hit registration issues since doing so however when finding a match via the "Multiplayer" section on the main menu, i am at the mercy of the games matchmaking system.
In all, i'm very happy with my purchase, i will no doubt be grabbing all the map-packs that are released for the game and hope to have many years enjoyment in the latest installment of Battlefield.
It's good to be back, Soldier!
