Add a Futuristic Close-Quarters DMR M110A1

Hello, I have a suggestion regarding the addition of a more close-quarters-oriented DMR.
While the DMRs currently in the game could use some general balancing and adjustments, I want to focus on proposing the addition of a true modern DMR or SDMR — something that’s currently missing.

I’m talking about rifles like the HK417 DMR, G28, M110A1, or SR-25.
Adding one of these modern marksman rifles would expand the limited niche that DMRs currently occupy.

Weapon Role & Gameplay Concept

This new weapon could function similarly to the SVK, but in an opposite way.
Instead of being a two-shot powerhouse at most ranges and a one-shot headshot weapon up close, it would still remain a two-shot weapon — but with a faster fire rate and quicker damage drop-off.

That would make it slightly weaker at long range but much more viable in close-quarters situations, allowing it to actually compete with some CQC weapons without relying solely on headshots to win fights.

If the developers wanted to make it a bit more interesting, they could also give it a two-round burst mode.
I know it’s not entirely realistic, but this is Battlefield — and honestly, most players probably wouldn’t use it. Still, in the right hands, it could make the weapon more versatile in close-range engagements, even if it would become a three-shot weapon at longer ranges.

Why the M110A1?

I believe the M110A1 would be the best fit for the game.
We already have something similar to the HK417, the G28 is a bit overused, and while the SR-25 isn’t as common as the G28, it has already had its time to shine.

The M110A1, on the other hand, is a futuristic and modern SDMR that would perfectly match the game’s aesthetic — especially considering that Battlefield focuses on modern warfare environments.

Visual / Attachment Suggestions

Even though the gun already looks very modern in its default form, I think a few visual and configuration changes could help it stand out even more and fit the futuristic DMR concept better:

Stock – Replace the standard HK stock with the PRS Lite Stock. This stock not only looks futuristic but also fits the idea of a lightweight, close-quarters DMR extremely well.

Grip – Swap the standard HK grip for the Magpul MOE Grip. It looks cleaner, more ergonomic, and gives the weapon a more distinctive, modern look.

Magazine / Fast-Mag Option – Keep the default magazine as-is, but add a fast-mag option — specifically the Magpul PMAG 20 LR/SR GEN M3. It looks futuristic and matches the rifle’s aesthetic far better than older-style mags most shooters still use. If a fast-mag is added, please make sure it doesn’t visually duplicate the fast-mag used by the HK417 in-game; the M110A1’s fast-mag should have its own unique appearance to reinforce its SDMR identity.

Final Thoughts

That’s everything I think should be changed or added to the base M110A1 to make it stand out and perform better.
I really hope this suggestion serves its purpose and gets implemented — I’ve been waiting for a futuristic CQC DMR that can actually compete with other weapons.
