Aiming mechanics with the DualSense controller on PC

Dear Battlefield 6 game developers,

My post is about the aiming mechanics with the DualSense controller on PC (Steam) in Battlefield 6.

During the Battlefield 6 beta test, I noticed that precision aiming was impaired. When moving the right stick diagonally within a range of 0.1 mm – 0.3 mm, the crosshairs moved either only “horizontally” or only “vertically” and not diagonally as desired. Above the range of ˃ 0.3 mm, the diagonal movement worked perfectly.

When the game was released on October 10, 2025, I bought it for PC (Steam) and PS5. Unfortunately, I found that the problem I described on the PC with the DualSense controller still persists. On the PS5, with the same controller, everything works as it should, with diagonal movements occurring across the entire input range of the stick.

I tested three different controllers (one was brand new). The error occurs on the PC with all three. On the PS5, it works perfectly with all three controllers. The dead zones set in the game (central and axial dead zones) are set to 0.

I tested the Steam input. In the Steam controller settings, you can change the shape of the dead zone to a circle, cross, or square. If the “circle” is set and the Steam dead zone is set to 0, the error disappears and diagonal movement is possible across the entire input area. This allows you to play normally for the time being, even if there is a slight input lag due to the Steam input.

With today's patch on October 28, 2025, the problem still persists.

I'm not the only one experiencing this error. The problem has been discussed often enough on the internet, and it mainly affects PC gamers with the DualSense controller.

I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter and fix this error.
