To me the aircraft are pretty OP and one huge advantage is they can heal so far away from the map you can hit them. They need to make it so they ONLY heal while over the map, and can only lock on targets while on the map.

why its bcme an issue when u can 1shot those metal bird with most of rocket that avaible in game, lol.
the problem, is aircraft arent suppose to be able to slow down to such low speeds to harass troops, jets are for anti vehicle. They are suppose to be fast, all the time, not flying like a single engine prop Cessna. Also, infinite ammo and flares is another issue. They keep "fixing the imbalance the wrong way. BF2, you had a lot of hate loaded in the chopper. You had hydra dummy fire rockets, 2 hellfire's and the gun. You also had flares, that you could discharge i believe 4 or 5 times before they too would run dry. guess what happens? you fly away to base, land or hover at the pad, and reload. took about 2 or so minutes to reload, but that time took the oppressive constant harassment of the attack helicopter out for a couple minutes to allow troop movement to develop. Instead, they make it so you cant lock a low flying aircraft... thats not how that works, when the missile is coming from below them, but whatever. Tanks too, you had about 20ish shells, and if you ran out. y ou got a supply crate or drove your butt back to base to reload. Tanks were played correctly too. they stayed back away from the front line because they arent suppose to be front line solo, the balance? finite ammo, which forced them to either pull back or get logistical support.
All in all, the point is, it makes the match breath, creates a rhythm. didnt need to find out how much dmg it needed, or nerf or buff its movement, because bf2 had the fastest aircraft of the entire franchise. they have purposely made aircraft a non team play required element now, so they can just sit there and fly around and be a nightmare ducking below 100 ft, or behind the terrain. No need to actually leave and then when they do, the air craft spawns are so close that they dont have to actually go anywhere to fix so the time off station is minimal.
