I don't trust Dice. There were a lot of missing details and things they just seem to refuse to acknowledge. They really just went on and on about destruction, which isn't a game play loop. I want to know more details of how they improved the game in meaningful ways. The reveal just didn't come across authentic to me. Felt like people being forced to sell their game rather than being excited about it. With a production of that size, I guess that's expected. Felt very corporate.
NEVER trust content creators. It's their job to find the fun for themselves, and then to convince others to play as well. Even if they're not being paid, they have to essentially force themselves to play in order to make content. The market is mostly dog water right now, and then so many of them act like every game is this amazing thing, or will be the next big thing, or it's trash one week, then redeemed the next. I can't stand watching anyone besides maybe Skill Up to get some gaming news.
On a side note, it was crazy to see Dice's marketing budget spent in a physical way this time around. All those content creators playing the game in person, wow. Lots of money going into that, just crazy to see and process the scale of this game.
The one thing that sounded really interesting was Portal. I'm really interested in that now.
