Agree completely; Assault gadgets are less than stellar. Adrenaline is too short with too little effect (and actually using it is jarring thanks to the effects, so I just don't use it); I would much prefer the ladder to be the class gadget for sure. Incendiary Shotgun is a complete joke. I do think Smoke Grenade Launcher should be on Assault. Breaching weapon...does it actually do anything? I've never seen it work or be used against me. As it stands now, I only run Spawn Beacon, Grenade Launcher or Ladder (and even then, Ladder is actually pretty rare).
Also, never considered Mortar for Recon, but I love it.
