Attack Helicopters - A Thanksless Job

I am currently mastery level 121 with attack choppers with about 65 hours of flying in BF6. I've been flying since Battlefield Vietnam (2004). I only like to be the pilot, not so much the gunner. Battlefield has always been the best place for helicopter pilots to get some constant combat action, I love it. BF6 is great so far, especially with the destruction of entire buildings (game changer). However...

One issue I have is that we don't get much credit for helping ground troops take flags - unless you are flying down low enough actually capping flags which is not recommended. It sucks because I can help clear an entire flag of all enemy and armor, and my team will come running in and take all the credit for just standing there. Pilots don't get any capture points of any kind at all - zero recognition for helping.

Most games now I will be low on the scoreboard but have the most kills or the best K/D (which is not my goal). That is because everyone else is getting flag points except me (and jet pilots). The scoreboard makes it look like I am just kill farming when I have really been playing the objective the entire time. All game, every game, I am right above my team eliminating everything that may prevent us from capturing the flag we are currently attacking. Also, as soon as another flag is starting to get captured by the enemy I will rush there and be the first responder. I always run Target Detection in my loadout, so I scan the area, take them out, and prevent us from losing the flag. But I don't get credit for defending the flag, just the kills.

When most of all your points just come from kills and nothing else it creates another issue. Right now it is easy for tank drivers to jump out just before the final rocket destroys their tank. They can jump out and be standing right up against the tank while it blows up and they would often survive. I don't care that it works that way, but the end result is that I put in the work to take out armor to help the team and there is nothing really to show for it on the scoreboard. I've had a lot of games where I destroy a bunch of tanks, look at the scoreboard, and it looks like I am just joy flying around. Its all risk no real reward.

I really think there should be a little more credit given to helicopter pilots, jet pilots, and even snipers for helping objective from long range. For example, if you kill troops actively contending a flag, you should get some points for defending or attacking said flag once the flag has been captured. Same for destroying armor at or around flags that are actively being captured. Only getting flag points because of physical proximity to the flag doesn't make sense in the modern battlefield where long range and remote weapons are common.
