Your analysis is only partially correct.
I do believe they aare not going the direction of 4 but compared to bf3, they actually got most of the core conquest experience. Rush... well.. we dont talk about rush.
The infantry experience is actually not that bad, IF THEY WOULD KEEP CLOSED WEAPONS but the issues lie in the look aand feel of the game.
Battlefield "looks" like COD now. And it sucks they did that, but overall these small things are not huge. BF6 seems to be on the right path.

THIS is the problem you are calling out. I play bf4 and immediately know this is not gonna be bf4 like, but I think it will be good. But BF7, all the minor cracks in this game, will become major. It will tear the franchise apart.
This is the sad truth, we WILL get one good game, and then we will lose this franchise to **bleep**ty cod devs.
