LordDath101 is on the right track. This game seems to run well and all the bells and whistles. However, being part of a clan or group who built and ran servers for 1942 and bf2 i submit the following to the Devs.
*bring in large maps and bump the player count to 128. Make them non-linear and slightly slow down the game. (please do not say it cant be done). Black sand studios did it in bf2 for a mod called project reality. Also within that change , dump the slide and like was mentioned above , bring back the limited sprint and no bunny hoping or dolphin diving ,etc...
*dump the deathmatch and team death match , good grief , they have no place in bf.
*Set the portal so it does not accumulate XP, DO I REALLY HAVE TO EXPLAIN WHY.
*NO bots...ugh , that never works.
In other words bring back the flavor of battlefield to battlefield .
