Battlefield 6 Party Size Limitation - Concern and Suggestion

My biggest concern with Battlefield 6 is the restriction on multiplayer party size. Currently, the party size is capped at 4 players, which matches the in-game 4-player squad size. While I understand the gameplay is centered around a 4-person squad, the main issue is that when you have more than 4 friends wanting to play together, there is no way to ensure you are all in the same game or let alone the same team. This fragmentation is frustrating for larger groups and detracts from the social aspect that makes Battlefield so enjoyable.

My suggestion is to increase the maximum party size to 8 players while keeping the squad size of 4 players. When a party of 5-8 players joins a match, the game should automatically split them into two squads on the same team. This way, larger groups of 5+ can ensure they are all playing together and coordinating, even if they are divided into separate squads once the match begins; all while keeping squad gameplay balanced with the intended 4-player squad size.

    German:

Genau meine Worte. Macht doch so alles keinen Sinn. In BF3 und BF4 haben wir Freunde gefunden, die bis heute zusammen spielen. Sowas passiert heute nicht mehr, da jede Runde mit anderen Spielern stattfindet.

Exactly my words. How can they make decisions that bypass the community like that? Today, I hosted a server so everyone could join. But you don't immediately get enough real players and then you're stuck because not enough bots are added for it to start until enough real players are there. Just playing together with your friends and two squads, like in the past, is impossible. EA strictly prevents it. Even on the Portal servers. None of it makes sense. In BF3 and BF4, we made friends that we still play with today. That kind of thing doesn't happen anymore because every round takes place with different players.

  • I would like to make the suggested party size even bigger. For your community discord groups we would love to be able to fill an entire team with multiple squads. One thing you can add is squad management while in the party. Say we want these 4 and these 4 to be in this squad and so on. I’m in a BF6 Group that consistently has 12 or more people TRYING to play together. Please give us the battlefront 2 approach to matchmaking. Thank you.

  • God… the replays in this section makes me sick. Since when Bf is a game centered around 4 man squad and not full clans? Since when we do need a system that balances teams for us? This kind of rigged matchmaking systems didn’t even exist 10 years ago, and now some people talk like it is the god’s given solution. It the most stupid idea I’ve ever heard about. People don’t need to get balanced, they will naturally leave the server if they feel they’re not good enough. Maybe try to join a clan or play with friends instead of being a useless lone cod-like warrior.
Also who decided the right way and parameters to be used to matchmake players? Who watches the watchmen? Players should be able to autonomously decide to stay or leave the server!

  • The workaround I found is to have party/squad A join a match. Then a member from party/Squad A leaves the party and squad once in game and creates party/squad B and invites the remaining friends not in the game to the game or have them join on the creator of party/squad B. If you do this as the match starts and before it fills up you can be on the same team and in the same game.

  • matches are so lopsided as it is.  maybe have a separate party qeue,  and then you can cry about noone wanting to play with you.  so you and your friends will have to resort to sync dropping in a match,  and then out of spite start padding starts and sabotaging matches.   I seen it all.....God help us.

Agree! There’s ways around what they’re trying to prevent. It’s annoying to join your friends in same game in multiple squads. But we’re all in other voice channels. So it defeats the purpose you say you’re trying to prevent. People are going to stop playing if they can’t play with their friends.

Matches are loop sided because there are no real matchmaking. But every one who cries because of SBM got their wish so here we are with loop sides matches. Also doesn't help that most players are treating every game mode as a tdm and completely ignore the objectives.

Got nothing to do with 5-6 people playing together on discord. Its not hard to put parties evenly on each side either and let loners fill in the gaps. But again, people don't want actual match making so here we are with bingo teams.
