Correct, they stated that it wasn't used anymore as of the time of the announcement
I have to assume they were inundated with requests after yesterday... Although registrations after 31 July will not earn "Early Access" to the Beta. I am sure it will reopen soon as EA DICE want to leverage it more moving forward... whether or not that includes a CTE... we will see!
