BF4 had 18 maps 5 months post launch. BF6 has 9.

While BF4 had a rocky launch and growing pains the first few months post launch, how in the world does the Neu DICE of today, with much larger budget and a much larger team, only have 9 maps?

BF4 … 5 months post launch:  100+ weapons, 35-40 gadgets.

BF6 … 5 months post launch:  51 weapons, 20 gadgets.

Oh and let’s not forget that BF4 had an actual SERVER BROWSER, set MAP ROTATIONS, as well as way more weapons and gadgets. Replicating these game features and number of weapons should be an easy lay up for Neu DICE having a relatively larger budget(even after being adjusted for inflation) and way more devs working on the game.

What’s the disconnect??

The "disconnect" is that the people making the decisions for this game don't know what their customer wants.  The people actually making the game can write code but lacks the mental capacity to actually code what the customer really wants.

The problem, management and coders don't understand the basic rules of how to treat (true) customers.  Managements only concern is making as much money as possible while coders only concern is moving on to the next thing...thereby making more money for themselves.

We've all seen this business plan throughout our lives in the multiple companies that have gone under because their customer's moved their business to other companies.

Sadly, EA/Dice is trying to cater to the sweaty COD clan....a group that really doesn't care and will move on to the next big thing.  When BF7 comes out, these same kiddos will buy it and play for a short while....and then move on again.

How long can EA/Dice continue this poor business plan?  Only until those coders wake up and decide they want to make something of meaning.  Yes, they will be replaced by new coders that are even more clueless than they are.

It's a rinse and repeat cycle...until it costs more to make a game than to make on the game through sales....then the business shutters.

I personally believe the Battlefield series died after BF1....maybe even started declining after BF3.

I've only played maybe 10-25 hours of BF4 and BF5 and less of BF2042.  I though BF6 was going to be the "breakthrough" and currently have just over 100 hours on it.  However, it has QUICKLY gone downhill fast and is no longer enjoyable.  With all of the problems that it has, and the lack of concern from EA/Dice, the problems will only increase...regardless of new, lack-luster and small maps or whatever make-up they want to aid.  If you put make-up on a pig, it's still a pig.  That is this game.  It's a paint and powdered pig.  I could go into ALL of the things wrong with BF6 but the only people that would/will read this are the players (who have some of the same gripes) and the forum AI searching to see who needs to be banned from the forums....they can't even get actual people to read through these forums...they have AI scan it looking for certain words and phrases in hopes of catching someone breaking the TOS.  Pathetic.  Absolutely pathetic.........

  • I dont think we can compare apples with oranges BUT if the same developers in bf4 where in bf6 then yes thats apples for apples, different people new team different mindset.

Understand 100% what your saying but we are only 3 months into the games release.

We wont ever get a server browser for this game or any future bf games, better map rotations yes definatley

  • Exactly, dedicated official servers with a real map rotation is needed. And the ability for rented servers like Battlefield 4, smokey and sloth alliance were great.

Having all these Portal servers with experience codes is complete garbage cause it turned into 100s of barely filled servers and countless AFK/XP farm servers.

I hate being in a full breakthrough server and then being put into a new one either with lots of bots, or games that are already started or nearly over just to get sent right back into matchmaking.

Right now I'd even be happy with having older maps added to official servers just to have more variety. Its garbage that they would even mention working on Golmund Railway if it wasnt even going to be part of Season 2. They could even just do an update expanding the size of some of the current maps, mirak valley could easily be expanded to space out the objectives more.

Sniper rifles need to be fixed so that the player has to figure in bullet drop instead of range finder giving an easy point and shoot kill.

Mortars need to be more accurate cause they are nothing like real mortars.

Hopefully they fix the way they add new maps and make it like prior games but I dont know how long I'll wait for that to happen before I just quit playing it.
