Hi All, Myself and a couple of friends regularly play BF2042 but only our own game modes in Portal. We've got no interest in XP, progression, challenges. We create modes that we enjoy and then play ...

- I don't know what VTDM is, but I made a team deathmatch mode which is basically conquest without any objectives. I guess that is what you are asking. Experience Code: ZMSS7 for you to see if that is what you mean.
- Yes, you can do it in blocks. You create an object that you interact with, and then make a rule that interacting causes a team switch to happen.
- You can spawn in objects, yes. But there is no defined keys waiting for you to bind to them, so it gets clunky. You can create a UI object (menu, button, whatever) that you click to spawn an object at your location, but the UI system is crap, especially for anyone using a controller. For controller users, it is pretty much unusable. It would probably be better to sprinkle dedicated call-in points around the map where you interact with something in the game to call in something. That way anyone can use it.
- Portal custom allows you to start a game with a single person, with or without AI added later. You would need to make it as a Portal Custom experience anyway for the other things. Every experience I have made can be started with 1 person.
- I never played 2042. I don't know. I think they share a lot of the same stuff, but some stuff is deprecated or implemented slightly differently, I think.
