BF6: The Enemy Shoots You. Your Medic Watches You Die. โ˜ ๏ธ

Welcome to Battlefield 6, the first war game where your own medics would rather walk over your dying body than save your life! ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ’€

There was a time when getting shot didn't necessarily mean dying.

A brother in arms would come running, risk his own life, revive you, and together you'd return to the battlefield.

Today?

HAHAHAHA! WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD! ๐Ÿคก

Over the past year, it feels like we've gone from 90% of teammates at least attempting to revive fallen soldiers to maybe 5% today!

YES. FIVE. PERCENT.

To be fair, revives within the same squad are still generally pretty decent. Apparently, a few surviving specimens of the human species still possess functioning brains and a basic sense of solidarity.

But outside your squad?

WELCOME TO THE HORROR SHOW! โ˜ ๏ธ

๐Ÿฉธ PICTURE THIS BEAUTIFUL SCENE...

You're lying on the ground, riddled with bullets, bleeding out, desperately calling for help.

Your final seconds are ticking away.

Suddenly, three meters away...

A MEDIC APPEARS!

A MIRACLE!

HOPE RETURNS!

You look at him.

He looks at you.

A beautiful moment. Two soldiers united by war, duty, brotherhood and the sacred obligation to help one another.

And then...

HE WALKS RIGHT OVER YOUR DYING BODY! ๐Ÿ’€

He casually steps over your still-warm corpse as if you were an inconvenient puddle of mud standing between him and his glorious destiny!

You call for help.

He keeps walking.

You scream.

He reloads his weapon.

You die.

He probably checks his kill count.

MAGNIFICENT! SUCH HEROISM! SUCH HUMANITY! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

At this point, perhaps EA should replace the medics' defibrillators with shovels, so they can at least bury us after trampling our bodies!

๐ŸงŸ WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO BATTLEFIELD PLAYERS?

Selfishness?

Narcissism?

A complete absence of empathy?

Or have we simply replaced our soldiers with an army of brain-dead zombies programmed to run, shoot, and ignore anything resembling a dying teammate?

The most ridiculous part is that MEDICS CAN LITERALLY WIN MATCHES!

A revived soldier is a soldier back in combat.

A defended objective.

A ticket potentially saved.

Sometimes, the difference between victory and defeat!

BUT NOOOOO!

Our glorious hero would rather chase his imaginary 47th kill while fifteen teammates bleed to death behind him!

Forget Battlefield.

THIS IS THE WALKING DEAD, EXCEPT THE ZOMBIES ARE ON OUR OWN TEAM! ๐ŸงŸโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸงŸโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸงŸโ€โ™‚๏ธ

โšฐ๏ธ INTRODUCING A NEW BF6 CLASS: THE FORENSIC MEDIC!

Special abilities:

  • ๐Ÿ‘€ Watch dying teammates without moving a muscle.
  • ๐Ÿฅพ Step over three wounded soldiers while chasing a kill.
  • ๐Ÿ”ซ Reload your weapon on top of a teammate's body.
  • ๐Ÿ™‰ Ignore desperate cries for help with remarkable efficiency.
  • โšฐ๏ธ Arrive too late, not because you couldn't save someone, but because you couldn't care less.

SPECIAL ABILITY: LEVEL 100 NARCISSISM! ๐Ÿ†

And EA could introduce a brand-new achievement:

๐Ÿ… LEGENDARY GRAVEDIGGER: LET 1,000 TEAMMATES DIE WITHIN FIVE METERS OF YOU!

CONGRATULATIONS, SOLDIER!

YOUR TEAM IS DEAD, BUT YOUR EGO IS ALIVE AND WELL!

๐Ÿš‘ SERIOUSLY, IF YOU PLAY MEDIC... BE A MEDIC!

Nobody expects you to commit suicide attempting every single revive.

But when a teammate is literally dying at your feet, safely behind cover, with no immediate danger around you...

WOULD IT REALLY KILL YOU TO PRESS THE **bleep** REVIVE BUTTON?!

Because if you keep abandoning every brother in arms who falls beside you, eventually there will be nobody left to save YOUR miserable backside.

And when that day comes, I sincerely hope you get to enjoy the magnificent sight of an entire parade of medics casually walking past your dying body!

WELCOME TO BF6.

THE ENEMY SHOOTS YOU.

YOUR MEDIC WATCHES YOU DIE.

AND YOUR TEAMMATES STEP OVER YOUR CORPSE ON THEIR WAY TO THEIR NEXT KILL.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL BROTHERHOOD! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’€

YOU BUNCH OF ZOMBIES! ๐ŸงŸโ€โ™‚๏ธ

For me I will not revive a team mate in the open unless I think or I know that the area is clear.  Even if the area seems clear I will still try to check my surroundings, look at the map and listen for footsteps/reload sounds and if those are all clear then I will do my best to revive. imo,  It is worse to give the other team 2 tickets rather than just 1 because the enemy is waiting around the corner.
In an objective with a low number of teammates around I might revive more often to try and defend the objective or take it.

And it has been said many time that the Rambo mentality is very active in this game and that is why we donโ€™t see revives and other team/squad based activities happening.

  • Hasn't there been a problem recently were nearly everybody in the team has been marked as a Medic even though they are not playing as a medic ??

I'm surrounded by players with "+" over their heads.  They're not medics.  The distance to nearby medics popup shows how far away the nearest is.

That's a pretty high effort post that I can't bother to read thanks to bold and emoji spam.

I'll offer that it's a lot harder in 6 to know someone is calling for a revive, the vast majority of the time I can't see or hear them thanks to all the gunfire and crap blowing up around me, or they're out of my FOV.

Also, I quite often will NOT revive someone on my squad because they refuse to spot the opp that killed them, or any nearby enemy.  I swear that a third of my deaths were me jumping in to revive and getting taken out by the same camper that got the person asking for a rez.  I don't do that anymore.  If you don't spot, or I don't know the enemy is likely down or gone, you don't get a pickup.  Also, fools that stand out in the open and get taken out don't get a rez 95% of the time, if you're camping in base like in a vehicle, or sniping way back.  It's petty, but if you're not helping the team get an objective and just statpadding, I'm not helping you.

I play medic 90% of the time. Over 6,000 revives.

  • I feel like the consensus is that kd is the ultimate gaming metric and getting kills is simply more important than reviving teammates, regardless of the class you choose. From an individual perspective, it may very well be soโ€”everybody is free to establish their own priorities. However, I agree that from a team perspective, revives are just as crucial as kills.

Using kd as the primary metric to evaluate player skill does not help the case for reviving. Since playing just to avoid dying seems more boring than playing for kills, many players will prefer to go into the battlefield and get as many kills as they possibly can. This way, they can take a look at their kd and see how well they are playing the game, regardless of what happens to their teammates.

Instead of just saying โ€œreviving is important in BFโ€, devs could try to incentivize it more effectively. One way could be making revives count toward kd: kills+revives/deaths. This way players would chase revives for a better kd, making team play align perfectly with individual stats.

  • "First game", what?? Did you start playing Battlefield yesterday? It was like that since oh-so-perfect BF4, if not earlier.

  • I have the opposite problem.  Medics are way to revive happy for me.  I'll die in a really bad spot, some genius with paddles sees points to be had, and revives me in the middle of fire, or on top of a grenade, or while I'm still getting shot at by a tank 2 feet away.

Most medics in this game are brain dead score chasers.  I don't even run paddles as medic because 90% of the time the guy who died needs to be removed from the line of fire BEFORE you stand him back up.  I often don't revive people because we're still in the middle of a firefight as well, it makes no sense to stand you up to die again and get myself killed in the process.

    CoD players in BF, man.

I find myself lucky that I tend to get quite good medics on my squad a lot. I've been a medic player since Battlefield 3 so it's near and dear to me, so when I run into someone who maybe isn't as familiar with the class or as good as they could be I try to help them out.

I actually put together a guide here on the forums to help people get to grips with playing as medic, nothing super extensive but just some standard best practices when playing as a medic to help PTFO.  Battlefield 6 Medic Guide - Share your knowledge!

Some other folks have shared some solid gameplay tips in there as well.
