Casual Creations

First off, I'm extremely happy with this game as a whole. It's like a breath of fresh air after living in a airtight fart filled Activision container. I do have one request and it's not a big ask really.

EA needs to bring back Static Bots for casual creations in portal. I don't care about XP, Weapon unlocks, Skins, etc. I just want to create an experience in verified mode, so I can come home after a long day of living in the real life "sweats" lobby and just have some casual fun on BF6.

It would be so much fun to just have bots in Rush/Conquest to play solo or with a buddy. Not all of us like to "sweat" in lobbies but rather just have relaxed experience where the outcome doesn't matter.  Could you please let us have this, many people don't have much to look forward to in their lives nowadays, it would be nice to have just one personal thing to look forward to and enjoy.

The portal in BF 2042 was fun as I could just play against bots with a friend and have a relaxing time. Sure the XP and stuff was a bonus, but that wasn't what I was looking forward to.

I know I'm not the only one requesting this as I have seen multiple threads and inquiries on this forum and throughout internet searches.  I just hope this finds someone who can help with this at EA, I know you guys are listening to feed back and have fixed most issues and given some fans what they want. Activision has failed miserably by not listening to 90% of their fan base and look where it has gotten them.

My Regards,

A BF6 and Battlefield series fan

  • I have made a handful of experiences with bots. I have a thread here:

Unique Maps and Portal Love | EA Forums - 12909480

Like I said in that thread, I do have a couple that are more dedicated to PVE. They are called Friends vs Friends because you have control over switching people to different teams and have control over whether or not there are bots. You can stack all the humans on one team, or not. Or play against bots, or not. It lets you control the experience on the fly. As long as it is Friends vs Friends, you don't have to worry about some random joining and messing with your intents. In other words, it intends on avoiding having one server admin who needs to be online to control the experience; everyone in the experience have individual control of which team they are on, or whether there are bots. Host it with a password, if it suits you. It hones in on what you are asking for, I think. I can make more maps like it, and bigger maps like it. I just need to know that people want it before I waste my time.

    Friends vs Friends TDM: ZG383

Friends vs Friends Conquest:  ZGGTZ (still awaiting publishing approval, but should be online soon)

Confused? Look for this sign in your spawn area:

Let me know what you think.

Someone just asked pretty much the same question in that thread. The only caveat is that bots are pretty awful in vehicles, so I hope that's not part of the experience you hope to feel rewarding.

If you did have a PVE conquest option (other than the Friends vs Friends option I already published), what would you want to see? Only bots on the opposing team? What about your team? Bot fill on your team too? Would you want other human players on your team as well? Or solo? How about something like 16vs16, with other team all bots, and the 16 on your team are humans plus bots to fill it up? Or 32v32? What is your dream exactly? Big maps? Small maps? Vehicles?

Conquest is the easiest option. Rush, I don't know. Maybe.

Make botfill in Portal great again! lol

Whose amazing idea was it to require humans to play bot matches

  • I republished the Infantry Conquest ZGGTZ experience because I had the wrong scoreboard selected, and the max players didn't match the bot fill value. It is back online to try out.

I'll plan to make a default-like casual conquest map, if I can ever get the new version of godot to run properly....

I played the tdm, conquest and, king of the hill. I like it, but the bots don't want to revive or drop ammo. Not a biggie. I enjoyed the experiences, Thank you!

    Thank you for your input!

I have a new one for you.  I have been working on it for a couple of days, trying to get things just right.  I waited to say anything about it until I was happy with it.

    Experience code: ZGQ1G

"Casual Conquest with Bot Control and Team Switching"

It is a faithful reproduction of Operation Firestorm conquest. It should feel like the real thing, but with bots and you have control of whether there are bots and which team players are on.

I spent a lot of time tweaking the AI to feel right. The AI will use vehicles. They will attack objectives. They will attack vehicles. And they will revive. ;)

Regarding reviving or resupplying, there is only a 1 in 4 chance that the AI near you will be a support class, and then it also depends on whether they are already on a mission.  You are most likely to get the support you need when near an objective area; especially after the objective is finished being captured.

Giving the AI a goal that makes the game feel good, is somewhat in opposition to being helpful to you the human. So, I'll just say the AI is very similar to what you will experience with a real human player.  It may just not listen to you if it wants to do something else instead. I have tried to make it more willing to revive, but at some point the subroutines take too long and the server crashes if you try to get too complicated with the options.

I think I have struck a very good and fun balance.  I hope that you will agree.

You can fly vehicles above the opponent's HQ, but you will get a warning if your altitude is too low.  Just a FYI.

I may go back and tweak the AI in the other maps I made. We'll see.

Now that I have invested all the time into making it work and play right, I can more easily add more maps.  I plan to add Eastwood and Mirak Valley, but might not if I don't see any interest.

If you like it, please give it a thumbs up at the game ending scoreboard.

I'll give it a try in the next day or two when I have some free time. Excited to try it.

That's a good question. I am not sure. Lol. I'll be thinking about it. I think the logic to move and available spawns would get complex, but maybe I am wrong.

  • I created a couple night map version of 'casual conquest'. One that is dark/blue to mimic a full moon night. One that is the same, but switches on a brighter/green NVG-like filter shortly after deploy/revive to make everything brighter, easier to see, and create the immersion and to suspend disbelief that it is all just a filter within the limits if what is possible with the game's global lighting.

    Dark/blue: ZMQMZ

    NVG: ZMBXX

    Enjoy! (and provide feedback) Thanks!
