Cheating Has Completely Ruined BF6 for Me

Well, I’m sure everyone is tired of BF6 cheating posts by now, but I don’t usually post and felt I should this time. I really love this game I’ve had a lot of fun with it and yes, cheaters have always been an issue. But when I logged in today, it was completely out of control. Every match was full of them. No matter how well you played, you couldn’t overcome it. You’d get on an objective, and one random player would wipe out nine people. You’d get shot from 800+ meters the moment you spawn.

People have basically given up on playing as a team because there’s just no point anymore. Unfortunately, BF6 isn’t fun now it’s just frustrating. It’s honestly sad, but I’ll be uninstalling BF6 at this point.

  • Just want to say, good players can hit 5 : 1 as infantry. And much higher if vehicles are involved, 50:0 is totally possible with a good pilot or tank driver. I'm not arguing about the cheating, I know there are cheaters being protected by EA. But there are also good players.

  • Just played a match of rush where the enemy teams player in first position was a Russian whose K/D half way in the match was 68-2 and he wasn’t even in a tank he was a level 25 and was just one shotting everyone with a pistol not even hiding the fact he was cheating and this was on PS5 with crossplay turned off. I’m seeing more low level players mainly eastern bloc which have magically unlocked guns and attachments they shouldn’t have and are going round like pure aim demons. It’s becoming a pee take that nearly every other match I run into these sort of players from high ping VPN cheaters to Cronus or ximmer aimbotters. Even seen some running at twice the speed of others but still have the perfect headshot aim to take 4 players out in one go. Also getting weird glitches where I can’t see objectives, mines seem to be everywhere I move even when not there when I’m looking and my guns seem to be hitting an invisible wall.

sucks brother.  Just report him and leave the server.  And lets keep our fingers crossed,  that EA doesn't have plans like rumours are to add an mmr system,  which would probably mean punishing ragequitters.  Which would mean pc gaming is dead to me.  It would add insult to injury having to play in a stacked out match.  Where my team can't do anything but camp in a corner at HQ with sniper rifles hoping the dam nightmare of a rigged fake stacked and hacked,  probably stalkeds out match just ends.  Because this is the last pc game worth building a pc for.  God help us.

The only mode not entirely plagued by cheaters is good old Team Deathmatch, but I'm about to uninstall anyway. If EA doesn't address this in the next month, I'm done completely. I've already stopped buying skins - though I doubt those greedy **bleep** understand that this Battlefield is the end of the road. You can only screw your playerbase so many times. We've endured it since BF3, which was also overrun with cheaters (only slightly less), but at least that game was half-decent and we had private servers with actual admins that would ban people on the spot. I skipped BF5 and the other garbage releases entirely. I thought after all these years they might have learned something. Nope.

EA Javelin Anti-Cheat: Absolutely useless. Maybe good at stopping pre-school level hacks, but anything beyond college-level gets through.

Netcode: One of the worst I've seen in online gaming history, rivaling only previous Battlefield iterations. You literally shoot someone in the head six times with no hit registration, aim for the chest and get nothing, then somehow a shot to the legs registers. It's worse when players are grouped together. The other day I had this hilarious situation where I managed to sneak around a bunch of guys I come out at their back with a shotgun, 6 shots... two each. None register, they turn around and put me down. Like WTF that were prefect shots from 4-5 meters away from a shotgun with a flachette, I didn't even get a damage indicator and my ping is between 7 to 17.

No private servers: Community moderation is dead.

Atrocious UI: Console-designed interface forced onto PC players. If you're making a game for two platforms, create separate interfaces for each. Stop being lazy.

Attachments and progression: Hidden behind what amounts to an unpaid full-time job. Challenges and achievements are even worse - limited to two weeks instead of reasonable timeframes like a month or two. And there's an army of cheaters spoiling every attempt at completion. Revive or redeploy 200 players that's like a two months in redsec or god knows how long in other modes as most players release straight after death and go to redeployment. Who even though that up, as a good way of making this. I understand 50 revives and redeployments but 200 were you dropped on your head EA. That's not fun that's tedious work.

Movement speed: Ridiculously increased. Soldiers move like they've popped a Pervitin tablet with the Führer himself marching behind them.

Console aim assist exploits: Cronus Zen devices giving console players higher than PC-level precision, reaction speed, and movement prediction. I've seen a console player changing targets like he had auto-targeting, just switching with the flick of a button. Dead-on precision too - same as aimbotters, jumping out of corners and buildings landing headshots mid-air.

Aimbotting: Blatant - guys headshotting me while flying through second-story windows, shots through bushes with zero line of sight and half way trough the map.

ESP completely out of control: Every match has some "sneaky **bleep**" appearing at the back of a group and obliterating everyone. One guy kills 9 players closing in on an objective - apparently they've just met the god of war himself. Don't even get me started on pre-aiming people behind corners, knowing there is someone behind a corner, and his exact position, like these dudes who knew you were there and they knew you were there, but you lay down and he jumps out of that corner (jumps not peaks, not crouch, not crawl, not walk, not run, but jump) already aiming straight at your face when you are laying on the ground, HOW DID HE KNOW THAT?!?!?! MUST BE GOD OF WAR.

Team play is dead: Replaced by lone wolves chasing kills. In Sabotage, players don't even understand the objectives. They just farm kills - 20:1 K/D ratios while completely ignoring the mission. Must be a "pro god of war" nobody knew existed.

Clunky terrain design: Bugged equipment placing. Apparently now equipment has a deployment space - if some **bleep** slapped his equipment on the ground, I can't place mine unless it's a meter away. Can't deploy equipment on tanks anymore, which was one of the coolest features in BF3. Slightly unreal and OP? Sure. But it was fun. EA is anti-fun.

Visual effects: Blurry rendering, fake lens flares, excessive sun glare - all that cinematographic garbage. Here's the thing: I don't get sun flare in my eyes because my eye is not a camera lens. Maybe the devs should go outside occasionally and notice that lens flare is an optical artifact that doesn't occur in human vision.

Poor optimization: Washed-out colors, texture/mesh misalignment where you have apparent line of sight but hit invisible geometry 10cm off from what's displayed. EA can't even provide a solid playable environment - just this cheap imitation.

Pointless cosmetics economy: What's the point of buying skins and blending in when everyone's running ESP? Tell me, EA - what's the point?

So I either go and play a different game that's not as plagued by cheaters or a mode in BF6 like DM and all of a sudden I'm a good player. I won't say a PRO but all of a sudden most of the matches (unless I hit one with cheaters - they do happen in DM too just not as often) I end up close to the top, sometimes at the top. Hmmmm must be me being a bit worn out with big BF maps... lol, or is it?

Worth to mention I dominated college LAN DM competitions back in the day to that point that the most of the players would just run in other direction than me hoping they will kill the other player before I get to them both. I've been playing PC shooters since I was 6 - I'm 45 now. Shooters have always been my thing. People would ask me to come to their house and beat bosses on hard difficulty they couldn't handle themselves. But since the emergence and evolution of online cheats, everything changed. All my experience, all my tactics, all my skill - gone. No matter what I do or how I apply it, the result is always the same: failure, because people see everything I do through the **bleep** walls.

In the end, EA, you're a company who can't even make a decent gaming platform client (origin), a decent game launcher(bf4)), or a decent web forum(where we are now)... so what do I expect, and from whom? Ultimately this will kill esports-level gaming, as you discourage any genuine, decent players from playing your game and therefore eventually joining esports.

One last thing, it might be me not knowing the mechanics but I noticed some players obviously running faster than me. Maybe it's  a class thingy or something? But if not than we can add speed hacking to the list too.  Ohhh, the days.

Yes they can. In reality, this is a multiplayer game with a lot of players on one server and a lot of variables. Not even a skilled player can keep their performance up 99% of the time - only cheaters can do that.

Following a rule of thumb, only 10% of a population can excel at any one given thing or task. In BF6 right now, 60-70% are hitting 20:4 scores or better. They don't play like pros with war experience - checking corners, crouching, walking to avoid noise, using silencers, playing with the team to maximize advantage. No, no, no, good sir. They play like noobs running wild with aimbots. So we either walk among gods, or the majority is cheating. I'm inclined to believe the second one is much more plausible.

Streamers are in on it too. Far too many become crap players once invited to LAN tournaments or any environment where they can't install their kernel-level software. There was this player in BF3 who was invited to play in a BF4 tournament when it came out. He was amazing on a heli when streaming but suddenly became crap at the tournament and blamed it on the controller, claiming he plays keyboard and mouse. If you have skill, this doesn't get completely wiped by a different type of controller - but it does get wiped by lack of ESP. Not to mention, he was flying the heli pretty well on that controller; he just didn't get as many kills and didn't know where the opposing team was all the time like he could hear them in his heli while they were walking on the ground. Now, a fun fact: he left his Intel CPU programming/design job to become a BF3 streamer. A person with just the right skill set to write an undetectable kernel/hardware-level custom cheat. Coincidence?! Make your pick.
