It's difficult to tell.
For me I'm not that good so I'm not at point where I can tell if someone is cheating. I used to think some ppl had walls but then saw how spotting works (no suppressor an you fire a shot and it highlights you in game with triangle and you on mini map, but they saw me on mini map or in person glowing (yeah the gun grind is insane. I think the starter mgun has suppressor since i support a lot, but nothing else).
First off, the volume of players means a lot will slip through. BF 6 has numbers in co-current matches that few FPS has. Even COD which could have those numbers don't have that all at once, but their issue is they have double standard to cheating, a bad anti cheat, and since 70-85% of player base has some game enhancing cheats (not counting ones that unlock everything all at once) and normalized attitude to cheating.
So plenty will slip through the net.
Some other factors
Some people are that good. They've played all the BF's and gotten good enough for BF 2042's run and gun play.
Then there's netcode / hit registration issues. And while its not Xdefiant bad / fundamentally game engine broken (beta had it much less ), its bad where some cases you get a back shot and empty entire clip and they turn around and bean you 3 shot kill.
Then there's some people defaulting to a far server like UK or US getting Timbuktu or Chile, or if in Chile or Timbuktu getting Hong Kong or US West.
Then there's a gun meta (SMG's hit all ranges, accurate, little damage drop off @ distance), followed by attachments meta (some attachments get ADS accuracy at hip fire and since ADS is pretty slow (even iron sights) those hip fire ninjas can land 4-5 headshots just as you are ADSing. Shotgun hipfire @ 20 m or under still can one hit kill.
Then there's some guns that just suck, like at mid range to long AR and carbines (not as bad as AR) the bullet spread / bloom is insane, like those old school cartoons where someone is machine gunned but the bullets hit around them forming a silhouette of them when they move off the wall. Machine guns have it bad like damage drop off starts at 20 m .
THe devs have acknowledged the issues (netcode / hit reg, bloom, weapons issues etc)
In COD it was easier to get good enough to tell if people where cheating (BF 6 just has so much more things going on so learning curve isn't as easy)
console and controllers have something similar auto aim / a tap to spin and face enemy, so there's that also.
