I agree with you and as much as I would greatly prefer a closed weapon system, they have chosen open and clearly don't care a large part of the community hates it.
And as much as I would prefer otherwise, they should just stop doing special closed weapons 'events'. It just splits the community and confuses those that don't understand the issue.
At this point it just feels like they are rubbing salt in the wounds by offering the limited time closed weapon stuff.
"Look! It's not as popular! We were right!" you can hear their marketing execs crowing as they receive their share option bonuses.
Ignoring that they never offered closed weapons on anything like a fair and equal basis for the community to actually make an informed decision. The disingenuous shenanigans to get their own way were impressive. It was a rigged fight but they 'won'. We need to move on for the good of the community.
Or at least we need to take the fight elsewhere and stop splitting the community in the meantime.
We can at least act for the good of the community, because they won't.
