Battlefield 6's current gunplay and tracking can just be weird sometimes.
Gun bugs and bullet tracking issues are definitely still around. Sometimes it feels like your getting instantly headshotted that don’t quite match what actually happened. Half the time the bullets and guns have a mind of their own you’ll be aiming dead-on at one guy, and somehow a stray round pings someone else in the head. Other times your shots just vanish into thin air or get eaten by a random railing, bush, or invisible hitbox. You just don’t know 100% of the time what the guns are going to do.
Console aim assist can be pretty strong but it can also backfire on controller players if it’s set too high. It tends to “stick” onto targets or move to others as they run past, getting them killed. Even through partial cover or smoke if the aim assist bubble was active right before you ducked out of view. That’s why it feels like they’re still locked onto your position even after you move.
And with smoke, don’t forget that players might already have a solid idea of your position or how your going to move when its thrown. Once they’ve started tracking you, the smoke doesn’t always break their visual or aim as effectively as you’d expect.
It’s probably a mix of bugs, mechanics, and timing rather than straight-up hacking . Doesn’t make it feel any less frustrating, though. Hopefully, DICE can fine-tune the aim assist behaviour and hit registration a bit more, both console and PC have their own advantages and drawbacks. But of course… there’s always the wildcard: Cronus and other input adapters. They blur things even more, since they can boost recoil control or mimic mouse precision on a controller setup. It’s hard to tell whether you’re up against legit skill, a lucky moment, or someone getting a little help from hardware.
