Corpses

You do realize that people respawn, die, respawn, die again, respawn again. Multiply this by 64 players and by the end of a match the map would be littered with corpses.

It's a game, it's not supposed to be realistic.

I mean, it wouldn't hurt to leave a few lying around. It doesn't have to be realistic obviously, but it does add to the immersion. 

Sure, but then it should be by means of fixed assets on the maps. I'm all up for immersion.

Can you imagine a 3o00 ticket Operation Metro round with non-despawning bodies? It would break the map and I assume the lag would be immense.

Operation Locker on console almost crashes when the center guard tower collapses. Imagine what would happen when the bodies never despawn...lol

Only if we can use the corpses to build fortifications.....

I had to read it twice to realise we were talking about a game, haha. That said, I actually kind of like the idea; it adds to the gritty feel of a live battlefield. However, I’m immediately thinking about the technical limitations since this would require a lot of extra resources from both the servers and the player’s PC or console. Some systems might struggle with that, haha.

There’s quite a few games where the bodies of NPCs take a relatively long time to disappear without forming a massive pile. It’s just limited to how many bodies remain and for how long. So it should be manageable without putting a strain on the game engine. But I can also imagine the team has other things to worry about.
