The real problem with Crossplay!

The current state of the game with crossplay won't be resolved by allowing PC players to disable it because it is too late for that, the player base on PC has diminished to a level so low that you wouldn't find a lobby with actual players. Steam is currently showing only 20,000 players. Keep in mind that is including REDSEC, which probably accounts for more than 50%, as you can see other free to play FPS  games have a larger player base than BF6. A realistic number at best, would only leave 10,000. Now take away the region worldwide, the existing number of active players in the US would decrease by an even larger number, lucky to be 5000 (which I highly doubt). Now take away all the different game modes, which splits the player base even more (knocking down too probably a 1000). Then you have matchmaking that puts you in the nearest server, whether east or west coast cutting that in half to 500. If you do a custom search for a particular map, it narrows it down to something smaller. You will not be able to find a full lobby with crossplay off. The real problem with the current state of this game is not really the aim assist, it is the desync issues! In order to win PC players back, they would need to fix this. Half of a PC players bullets do not register yet console players all hit. A PC player can't outgun a console 1v1. I personally am not good, but I play alongside of some of the best players in the game and many have thrown in the towel. Make the game fair!

  • Sorry bud but the real problem more than aim assist but the reverse as you have it here. It is aim assist+desync/hit registration+25% reduced recoil+less bloom (don't know hard number)+ cheating + the game not being the experience PC players enjoy from the Battlefield franchise. All these things together make PC players want to uninstall. I am one of them.

Aim Assist shouldn't exist at all and what the BF devs have done with this game is as bad if not worse than what COD did. I mean a hard coded 25% recoil reduction and less bloom for controllers in a game where weapon balance is based on recoil and bloom!

We PC players have for years had to deal with the same sync and hit registration issues each time a BF game launches. I remember it being a big problem in BF3 as PC only. What made me quit then was the cheating but at least then we had private controlled servers, not this Company Furnished low tick rate garbage we are forced to play on. De-sync issues still exist in 2042... which they practically abandoned until BF6 was nearer to launch.

I appreciate your standing up for your PC friends, but until controller players stop demanding Aim Assist to "level the playing field" it will be an issue. Easy solution, put PC and Console back into their respective environments and don't allow ANY PC aim assist. The aim assist is bad for gaming is the hill I have chosen to die on and will fight it in every game I play. I just wish controller players would realize, what helps them, makes the game way worse for who they beat up on to the point they quit. That is no way to run a "competitive FPS game."

Game is pretty dead currently even with consoles.  90% of the issues with desync/hitreg/netcode wouldn't even exist for PC players if we weren't dealing with consoles the entire time.  This is why no matter how many times they patch it, it never improves.  The problem lies in the hardware of the console, not the servers or programming.

EA killed this game, "most sold game of 2025" by forcing crossplay.  Then they make posts about how people are saying positive things about it.  Where?  On the discord, where you can get banned from the server for any criticism?  Talk about an echo chamber.

Consoles getting aim assist is not the problem.  99% of modern games have an aim assist for shooters.  The problem is the recoil reduction and bloom reduction, which translate to about a 50% increase in engagement range consoles get over PC.  Then there's what they won't admit, that consoles get projectile guidance.  Even if the console would miss a shot, that bullet will redirect to land.  An RPG will change directory just to hit someone when shot by a console.

Game is broken, game is dead.

  • I'm glad people are finally waking up to the ridiculous state this game is in for PC/M+K players. Like everyone I know has quit because it's so absurd. Forcing PC players to play with consoles with the equivalent speed of my PC 15 years ago with some cheesy a** aim correction, feels like I'm in some noob arcade game playing this.
