Battlefield was so much better back in the day before cross-play and controllers were allowed in the mix! MUCH BETTER! I understand it's to allow friends on different platforms to play together, and that's cool and all, but we played without those friends in the past! The game ran smoother without cross-play. Plus, I didn't have to deal with unmuted controller mics nearly every match! Ugh! 😫Cross-play should be optional for EVERYONE, not FORCED. And there should be an input-based matchmaking option as well. How hard this would be for them to implement; I have no clue. But if it's easy to do, then they should do it. A more enjoyable Battlefield is giving the players options for how they would like to play, and with who they'd like to play with.
I know I've beaten a dead horse with similar posts over and over, but I strongly believe controllers ruin FPS games and will eventually do the same to Battlefield. I don't want to see this happen is why I continue to speak out. Everyone else that feels the same, should speak out as well. Maybe they'll listen to us, but I'm certainly not expecting them to do so.
It was better. You could tell instantly back in the day when someone was using a script, now it just feels like everyone is doing it, because controllers have it built in! I miss the days where you could get people to miss their shots by strafing. Now, that doesn't happen. Every death in any FPS with controllers is just instant, no bullets wasted. Cronus plus aim assist is basically impossible to beat if you're playing fair with a mouse, at least close range fights.
I think the only hope is for an indie developer to come along and give us something interesting and fair. These big studios are passionless money grabbers that only care about big flashy trailers to get their shareholders excited. You can't be creative or fair in that environment.
Agree. It will always be too imbalanced one way or the other. As for macros etc I would rather have a .5kd than use them. If only you had to give credit/debit card details to play online and if you get caught using a cronus, macros or any other cheat engine your name is banned permanently. A list of perma banned players released every week would be great too
So only controller players cheat? Thats what you’re saying? Cheaters are cheaters. You’re the only one “playing fair” with a mouse.

Huh? Are you responding to the correct person? Did I say or even imply that only controller players cheat? I don't feel like I did. Regardless of developers giving only one input assist, that doesn't make it fair, or the right thing to do. It's for sales and has nothing to do with fairness. It's a lazy design approach that only the most unimaginative studios use.
I will however, keep advocating for shooters to stop implementing assist for just controller players. Imagine having to aim in an FPS game, the shock, the horror!

Having aim assist and less recoil for controllers are basically low-level cheats. Except your cheats have been given the okay by Dice. Do you honestly not see the problem with this?
I'm not trying to be rude towards controller users; I just don't believe this controller BS should be allowed in FPS games. It certainly shouldn't be forced on those who would like to avoid it.
